This melody/sound has a story. 2 years ago, a group came to my wife and I's house to worship for a night. We didn't know them, they were from across the world, on a discipleship trip and visiting the church plant we were apart of. My wife and I will never forget that night, because as we sat in our living room and worshipped Jesus, we could feel His presence in the room, and hearts were moved to love him and each other in a special way. We knew that we had come across kindred spirits who just wanted to love Jesus for Himself, and nothing else. They were moved by our openness to them and they blessed us financially that night. We felt like we had made a connection. This sound came from a moment in that worship moment, one that I have never forgotten. I still sing it, and will for a long time. I sang the words "I sit here at your feet, I don't want to miss a thing...."
Fast forward to this year, and the Lord has used the story of Mary and Martha to help me see Him in a new fresh light. Mary sat at Jesus feet,, gazing at him, taking him in. Martha was distracted with much serving. Jesus response to Martha was that Mary had chosen the good portion, one that will not be taken away from her. How this echos across the caverns of my busy, noisy, performance oriented, earn-love because I am a good boy soul. This invitation to sit at Jesus feet, and behold Him, is saving my life this year. Because it really is so simple. It is all about Jesus, His face, His beauty, and the lower I lay myself down and His feet, and worship Him, I am finding that He speaks to me, takes care of me, changes me more and more into His likeness, without my effort or striving. Sure, I make choices and decisions, but everything flows from sitting at His feet. This has meant so much to me this year.
Blessings!

Psalm 27:4
One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.
Luke 10
Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
