I bumped into Cory at MSP airport - believe it or not, while listening to Vulfpeck. As a hobbyist musician and a 'strat guy', I'm a big fan of his tone. He had the famous blue strat along with him and was headed out to LAX to do some recording work. He's such a down to earth nice person - super cool to say hello and chat for a quick minute.

I'm late to this party, but when Cory was describing Vulfpeck as "cartoon characters" with their distinct personalities and personas (around 15:50) ... it struck me that as the Monkees were to the 1960s, so Vulfpeck is to the 2010s+. At least, there are _some_ parallels! IMO. YMMV.

What a great interview, thanks Mary. I'd heard of Cory but never really listened to his stuff. This interview got me interested in checking out the Vulpeck Madison Sq Garden concert video: kzitem.info/news/bejne/06xq3Zptm6yXeXo I'm normally more of a hard rock guy than the funky stuff Vulpeck does but I have to say that it's, hands down, one of the best concert films I've ever seen. The band is just having so, so much fun and it really comes out in the playing. All of the (many) guest performers just kill it. The camera work is stellar, it almost feels like you are a part of the band. I highly recommend this to those who haven't seen it, just a super fun show: kzitem.info/news/bejne/06xq3Zptm6yXeXo
