Saw them many times in the Sixties=. Was introduced by my older brother, 1962 and listening to PP&M any depression or anxiety was instantly relieved. Now, 60 close years later, I still listen to them and again, depression, anxiety, gone. Peace to her family and thank you Peter, Paul and Mary.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mary perform live, solo, in 1976 at Hunter College, New York City. There's nothing more I can add to what's already been said about her greatness, except I still miss her as if I knew her, and at times I still can't believe she's no longer with us...

FYI. I’m Mary’s daughter and you are correct about the headstones. When my grandmother died my mother had a gentleman make three headstones in the same style. One for Virginia (her mom), one for herself and one for her current husband.

Wow, what a coincidence! I got to see them live at the same location in July 1996 when I was 12 years old myself! My first ever Peter, Paul and Mary concert. It was a real treat!

Her headstone is like she was - no frills. On the gruesome side, another consideration might’ve been that if it were something extravagant it might attract fan-ghouls to want to chip off a piece of the stone.

I made a harp for her and she was to have me to teach her but it was not to happen because she became more ill. I love her dearly and we all miss her very much.

@@variousvisfineart I was in a lobby of a hotel where she was staying and she was in the lobby and I asked her could I play her a tune. She was very nice and even tried to play a tune. She asked me to come to rehearsal and play it and I hang out with all of them a while. It pleased me so, and I surprised her later with a Celtic harp as a gift for being so kind.

The harp. During a concert in Melbourne Australia, Paul had broken a string which he replaced. He was then having a lot of trouble getting back into tune with Peter. Mary came to the microphone & there were roars of laughter when she said "Next time I will bring my harp and have half an hour of my own tuning"

Maybe that was her second choice. But she is in Connecticut right next to her mother.
