Maryhill Museum of Art is located along the Columbia River in Goldendale, Washington. The grounds are beautiful with a wonderful view of the Columbia River. It was built by Samuel Hill, a successful business man, world traveler, builder of monuments, and early advocate of paved roads. Not far from the museum is a monument to WWI dead from Klickitat County. A Stonehedge monument dedicated in 1918.
I needed some time away from home and inspiration. What better than to soak up local history and experience artwork, including a number of sculptures by Auguste Rodin. Truly marvelous.
