The Rainger FX Snare Trap is a beatbox for your pedalboard. Run your guitar or synth through it, combine it with other effects, or use the onboard delay controls and tone shaping tools to create warped beats and spacey dub textures, all mixed to a single mono output. Designed as an intuitive creative tool, the Snare Trap can get a beat going quickly by hand or by foot. Just tap in a tempo, and your off. The first bass drum hit always falls on the 1, with snare hits on 2 and 4, while the second bass drum hit can be shifted around with the BD2 knob to quickly create new grooves. Hi-hats can be switched between a default 8s pattern, and an offbeat 4s pattern. Each sound can also be triggered individually using external triggers. In this demo video, we start with a post-rock fuzz-and-drone number using the Snare Trap in tandem with Rainger's Dr. Freakenstein Chop Noise Fuzz, Reverb-X, and Drone Rainger pedals. Then we run through the Snare Trap's basic functions to show how this inspiring creative tool does its thing.
