Maschine really needs something like a "Take Continuous" mode that will keep recording takes without the need keep hitting the start recording button. A "Sound continous" mode that auto populates each pad after recording would be great as well and could make comping possible using the audio clips "Gate" mode. As well audio clips would greatly benefit from being able to set start and end loop points that snap to beats/bar (so you can record long takes but then pick and choose the best parts). Many of the recording options in Maschine seem to expect you to have the perfect take first, which often you need a few takes to get into the swing of things. Also please custom chords! Love Maschine plus, I hope to see it get some love to compete with the Push 3.

as somebody who uses both Maschine & Live: this is easier to execute in Live. mainly because there still is no warp mode for audio in Maschine. if you wanted to snap one of these takes to grid for any reason, not possible to do in Maschine as of yet. personally, when doing live looping there is a lot of room for error, and i need the possibility to drag warp points around, which Live affords.

@bwiselive

Johannes Schroth you can not snap an audio point to grid in Maschine currently. you can adjust BPM if you are using an Audio track for instance, and that will adjust. You can also try time stretching in a Sampler track. but neither of these options let you move an audio point to a grid point individually in the way that Ableton does.
@bwiselive

basically if i have 4 snares in a Audio loop and one of those snares is too off time for my liking, i am outta luck in Maschine. if you adjust the BPM to compensate in Audio, it will throw off the other 3 snares. i can warp that one “out of place” snare in the loop in Ableton.

@@Brandwebgo No. Not true. Other DAWs have latency compensation, which makes the recorded audio be "on time / on grid". @@monkeytheo No. Latency is latency. A better interface may have less latency, and a fast computer may enable recording at small buffer sizes which reduce latency - BUT DOES NOT REMOVE IT. There is a hurdle when sampling via line in (synth,...) and additionally via Mic (acoustic instruments, vocals,...) on MK3. When all cables are plugged in (Line In + Mic), Maschine doesn't recognize the audio from line in - there is no virtual switch. Finally, the solution is to disconnect always the Mic before start of recording via Line In. This was an issue since the release of the MK3. If this is already solved by an option (which I`m not aware of), please let me know.

Okay Ima try and explain my issue so hope it makes sense: I play a guitar loop (i've tried take, sound and pattern and all same results) and as soon as I get to the end of the live take, the loop doesn't start flush on the next bar. It misses a second or so then kicks in, then loops perfectly fine in time the next time round. It's not a problem for recording, but say you wanna do a live set, it just doesn't work as I imagine in my head. Am I missing something, or should I just give up and get a hardware looper or run maschine in a DAW so I can loop guitar on other tracks? Seems to work fine on this video, dudes layering audio no problem. I don't think it's a latency thing but I'm open to any advice! Hope that makes sense! I appreciate any replies in advance.

@PHeMoX

It might be a bug of sorts. But it might also be your timing is off. Or it could be you're having latency issues in your entire setup. But it might also be Maschine software not registering enough audio to start recording depending on the mode you set it to (for example, you can set it to start recording only when it detects a minimum amount of volume, try adjusting that to something lower). Last but not least, if you're playing over a drum loop, use Take mode and just pick your second loop attempt the first time. Again though, it might be a bug, as half a second, if meant literal, sounds like a lot to me.
