Wow is this a 228 or maybe even a Ghibli 24V V6 turbo

Looked like my mom driving home from church, and everything on the road is passing like she's sitting still. Plenty of time to avoid the wreck. Car spun out far enough ahead to slow down or go around as slow as this guy was going. He ran right into the car in front of him. I hope you're alright and you get a fast car but learn to drive fast.

What's your driving experience? Besides going to church with your mom?

@@ThomasJones-ij6hv 12 years SCCA ITS class. 5 times Silver State Classic run. You read the other driver. The Camaro took a late apex because he was clearly going too fast for the turn, and obviously locked up his left rear tire on the aggressive attempt to save. That loss of traction on the rear since the smash on the brakes threw all the weight to the front of the Camaro means overstear is going to happen and lead to a spin. The Biturbo was back plenty far to brake or go right. Crap happens and I feel bad for the Biturbo, but as a long time driver this was completely avoidable based on what I can see out his windshield and in his rear view mirrors, although I wasn't there so this is a back seat driver take. The Red car with the yellow stripe was behind him, not to his right, and after he hit and spin, no car passed on the right. Hopefully he'll learn from this error. I had plenty for crashes to learn from. The important thing is to learn from your mistakes. That's racing.

I agree with janofb (mostly). As an instructor for the Porsche and Audi clubs & having done some Skippy races, the Camaro was going in way too hot, but so was Maserati (he overshot the corner on the previous lap). He's not double-clutch downshifting, his hands are in the wrong place, and his reactions just appear slow. As for the accident, he's not slowed down enough and turns in early, expecting to use more of the track to slow down further. By the time Maserati's apexing, the Camaro is coming around, and the car behind is sending to the inside, so he should continue braking in a straight line and get ready for whatever happens next. He correctly unwinds the wheel--he could have nearly stopped his car in the 30' straight ahead--but he recommits to making the corner despite the Camaro pirouetting in front of him, sliding off stage left. The Camaro isn't both feet in (no tire smoke) so there's no telling where it's going. But with the car behind taking advantage of the Maserati being about 10' from the apex, the Maserati has boxed himself into the accident and there's nowhere to go. Sad that a Maserati BiTurbo bought the farm, they were neat cars, but more non-racing track days are needed here.

@@hunterjohnson7393 Thank you for the Monday quarterbacking. I guess I should respond by listing my wins, podiums and championships over the last 30 years, but why bother. You obviously know a lot more than I do, and without even being there. Very commendable. The fact is there was a car on my left, cutting off that escape route, and another on my tail. It is a 3rd gear turn, faster than it looks. To suggest I make a hard right on a left turn, to go around him in the dirt, well, I don't think so. I did think, in a split second, it was reasonable to assume his momentum was going to carry him toward the outside leaving me room on the inside. If I only had the video ahead of time, and knew exactly where he was going to go, I probably could have come up with a better plan! In the meantime, the stewards disagree with you and ruled it "unavoidable contact"
