In the calling to consecrated life, our baptismal consecration develops into a radical response of following Christ through poverty, chastity, and obedience. This is God the Father’s initiative, who asks those whom he has chosen for this life to respond with complete and exclusive devotion. On May 1, 2022 in Atlanta, USA, Adriana made final this exclusive devotion when she renewed her vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. Adriana had made these vows for a limited period of time during her process of discernment. During this special Mass, she made them for the rest of her life.
The first duty of the consecrated life is to make visible the marvels wrought by God in the frail humanity of those who are called. Consecrated persons bear witness to these marvels, not so much in words as by the eloquent language of a transfigured life. We give thanks for all that God has done in Adriana during the years leading up to this moment, and we pray that she, and all consecrated persons, may indeed bear witness to the marvels that God desires to work in all his children.
After ten years of discernment, 6 years of temporal vows, Adriana made her definitive yes to God. Born in Guatemala, Adriana has studied and served in Monterrey, Mexico; Madrid and Atlanta. She was surrounded by loving family and friends during this solemn and joyful celebration.
