Nice video. That steering box looks the same as the steering boxes in most of my garden tractors. The brand name of these steering boxes is , Ross. Where you put in your bottom Welch plug, on the Ross steering boxes is an adjustment to adjust the tightness of the bearings. Sort of like a castle nut and cotter pin set up.

I heard a story many moons ago of a bloke who was using a set of vice grips instead of a steering wheel on his W7 Inter. I suppose they got him out of trouble. What could possibly go wrong? Jeff

Hello Bundy, did you ever run into a MF65 with different size sector gear bearings?? My 65 I’m Repairing has no bearing ball cage and just balls just float, I purchased two different sets of new bearings off of dealers on internet saying they will fit a 65 and when I get them the races are too big in diameter?

On my MF65 the bearing cups etc were certainly smaller than the later 100 series ones. The later ones dont even fit the 100 series very well they are missing something. On the pointer that goes up and down the worm I had a 100 series one and it was too big so I used the pointer and the needles only with the older outer which was still useable.

@@BundyBearsShed appreciate the reply, I must have the early style? I ended up buying new ball bearings and I’m going to reuse the “cups” races, the upper is pitted a little the lower is usable, no bearing shop has the early style that I could find

Not sure those bearings are seating Lance. Didn't see the cage turning as it should.

hey bundy i need some of your knowledge. i bought bearings from a site that said they were the right part i got them and they are way to small. the ones i need have a race o.d of 2.406 inches. thats all i have to go on. its a mf 65 mk 1 industrial. it has a slightly different shaft from yours. no one gives measurements of the race so i cant be for sure which one is right. if you remember what size the bearings were or any knowledge i would appreciate it.

S.41872 and S.41873 Should be the correct ones from memory. I just looked at AGCO and it only lists one type for the 65 range

@BundyBearsShed I'll have to try them again, I'm starting to think I was sent the wrong ones cause the website says the right part number. I'll call the dealer to hopefully not pay the 15 dollar shipping and maybe get it all put back together by this weekend. Thanks bundy
