Hey MickHippy have you ever mowed with a Hustler 3700? Or a New Holland MC 35 and if you have ran both of those kind of mowers do you have any feedback on them? They are hard to come buy here in the states and the New Holland Mc 35 seems like its a Hustler 3700 but about 19 thousand dollars cheaper...... Any thoughts... Thanks man

The NH and Hustler was also Shibaura if that helps. The tractor part anyway! One of the big city contractors ran a heap of them back in the day. I have never run one but have sat on a 3700. Great looking machine but wasnt suitable for my smaller properties. Also setting deck height was manual, like a walk behind and I wasnt a fan of that. May be different now. To be completely honest, I havent heard much about them in years and never see them now. Its all zero turn with the occasional JD outfront. What kind of work would it be doing? Remember to compare same horsepower, deck size etc. Thats a big difference in price so there may be more too it!

I live on a 90 acre farm. But haft to cut about 8 to 9 acres And I can't do a zero turn because I will get bounced out of my seat. Those things don't seem like there meant to take some rough ground.Ive seen those things bounce off the ground since they have no suspension it seems like. I haft to at least go with the Shibaura 36 N843L. What sold me on the Hustler 3700 was this video of it cutting this damp grass. www.youtube.co/watch?v=EKZzQ3_liqU But like I said it seems like its 10,000 dollar price difference just because of the hustler name. The other out front all wheel drive mowers that come close in the specs are the. New Holland Mc 35, Or some of the Shibaura Cm Mowers but you never see them over in the states. Thanks for the reply

And I gotta go with a 60 inch deck. It seems like I can get the most torque out of a 60 deck

Have you looked at Ferris ztrs with suspension? Also, the HD Hustler Super Z with the flex forks and the new upgraded seats are supposed to go pretty well. Would need to demo the deck though but if you want to cover a lot of ground in short time there isnt much out there that will beat it. Ive had my issues with Hustler but in certain situations, its the best there is! If you can utilize the speed of a Super Z you could possibly mow your 8 or 9 acres in 3 or 4 hrs. If youre mowing rough ground I'd expect even the out fronts would be a pretty rough ride. Its just a backwards facing tractor after all. JD and Kubota have 4wd outfronts if thats what youre really after and Grasshopper have ztr outfront that has a fantastic reputation. Heres a guy I know mowing his farm with a super z... kzitem.info/news/bejne/wGyft4Jts4qhpKw

Dad, my Brother and I looking to take the heat off our JD D140 46" rider, got 4-5 acres of mowing and it can be rough going. Burke Farm Supply has several GC1705s with variety of set ups. Price is pretty darn good too!

Just found your videos and love them. How short will the 1705 cut the grass? Cheers from Australia

Thanks Matt. The deck can cut REALLY low if you want. 1st setting down measures around 2.5" and where I set it. Any lower and it starts scalping. The settings on the dial make for large adjustments. Transport is near 5" and the lowest is mowing dirt.

@@mickhippy I like mine but wish it had higher ground clearance for transport. Barely 5” but with the wheels below the deck it catches every thing that sticks up like uneven ground it digs in when I go from one field to another.

@@alcantrell5340 Thanks for watching Al. I have the "scalp wheels" in the highest setting all the time. The only issue I have is when using the loader, doing loader stuff. I'd say most commercial mowers only have a 5" deck clearance so its not the mower, its the property. I'd look at levelling the areas causing the problem. You cant change the tractor but you can change where you drive it! Cheers

That's about the height I end up mowing mine. Lol. Just bought a massey 1725. Waiting on the grass to get taller. Looking like mine will chug through it.

+Cool58F250 Thanks man. The tractor did an ok job. When grass gets like this you cant expect to much. Too wet to double cut so it is what it is!

+Mickhippy Yeah !!! Definitely, if it was wet it would be a pain to double cut as it won't do much to it..... Thanks for the Response :) Always Great to see your Videos....

@mickhippy

+john hunt Not like a commercial ztr but I reckon you could use it commercially. Id say more light commercial. I wouldnt want to mow more than a few lawns with it. Where it would be best is in landscaping using the loader and other attachments. And it could mow a few lawns too!

Why would this guy do that and hit the ruts made by the cars, excavators and trucks that had previously driven over the lawn. Then theres the drains, humps and dips! But its ok, tell me how to do it!
