I admire both of your guys level of positivity, from the first time I started watching a few years ago no matter the challenge or whatever problems come up you seem to move through them so effortlessly (mentally). Despite my enjoyment of the cars this is by far the best thing about the channel. I'd really like to know what they but in the food over there haha. But seriously if you have any advice on your mindset/outlook I know myself and I'm sure others would greatly appreciate it. Oh and don't worry I always hit the like bucket :) DP, PT - keep it up to 1Million subs.

Thats is nice that the ebrake is using the drum integrated in the rear.. very cool! No worries about using it after some hot laps (and cracking the rotors). Also, that spec 37 iron that is used in those rotor rings is awesome. I have been on those for the last 3 track weekends and the rotors are still perfect, very durable!

"Pedal feel" sounded like something else for a second. Mix and match part BBK's are great as long as the recipe has been discovered by someone, like in this case, and the parts are readily available and affordable. There's so much "These calipers work but you'll need shims here, and these rotors from the X car work but you may need to machine out the Y" with some cars...it's hard to have it all.

You can change the balance of the car significantly by fine tuning rear toe. More toe out in the rear will make the car more loose. More toe in will make the car push. of course big changes are more of a hardware issue. Keep up the awesome work guys. 👍

Please slap a Kraftwerks C38-92 on the K240. Two tips to add, make sure you use the factory VTEC solenoid gasket and Nichi clutch release bearing if you are running the S2K gearbox. Just two tips I got from watching LHT Performance working on several Kraftwerks kits on S2K's.

@esoteric__

Message to Pete: All you're doing by spraying that "rust protection" on there is sealing the rust in to continue it's journey into becoming rot! You're far better off to use a die grinder with a wire wheel/brush attachment to take the surface down to fresh shiny steel and apply what's called "acid etch primer" and then undercoat it. That product you sprayed on there is meant to be sprayed on steel that isn't already oxidized. Plus because it is wax based, it will collect dirt and dust over time, which naturally holds on to moisture, which causes rust. Fluid film is basically a last ditch effort to protect steel, it's better to be sprayed inside of tight cavities like frame rails and tube structures to prevent oxidization. Just a friendly heads up for you as I'm currently in the process of restoring the underbody on my own S15 right now! Look after it properly to preserve your S14! ~Cheers!~

Would’ve loved to hear some detail on piston size and master cylinder to piston ratio with this new kit. Often times the hardest thing with these kits is getting proper pedal feel and brake bias. Not planning on an adjustable proportioning valve?
@Core4Motorsports
4 жыл бұрын
Hello Rob, Feel free to reach out to us at info@core4motorsports.com for more details if you're curious. We've been using these brakes on our endurance racing VQ swapped S14 with more than 4,000 laps of racing. Pedal feel and brake balance/bias is one of the Achilles heels of S-chassis braking and why we set out to make this kit for our own race car (using OEM style vacuum assist and master cylinder). The BMW cars we race against always had a distinct advantage in the braking zones so we grew tired of that and managed to close the gap significantly without totally breaking the bank.

I love brakes! You got a really nice setup! Just FYI, when I was researching BBK's for my Subaru GC8, I discovered that both Wilwood and Stoptech have rear kits that retain the full functionality of the e-brake! There are probably more out there (I know DBA make a hybrid 316mm rear disc for the Brembo calipers that works with the GC 170mm OE handbrake) but after I found what I was looking for, I stopped researching. Love your stuff guys! Brake porn for the win!

The brake setup looks good but I wonder why he didn’t use the aero calipers that appears to be there newest “race” caliper
@Core4Motorsports
4 жыл бұрын
Hey Bigmikes, during the development phase, we looked into the Aero caliper and decided not to use it for a couple of reasons. 1st being that the pad shape is very new so there's very little pad compound options available for it. 2nd being that it's basically twice the price as their venerable forged superlite caliper and people would tend to shy away from it for that reason alone. We've had excellent success with their superlite caliper on our endurance racing S14.
