Man, I didn't realize when I posted this video how much hate would go on in the comments. I guess that's the nature of the KZitem comments section, though. I promise I'm not a brainwashed nationalist that kneels and prays to his flag at night. Just thought this was a fun moment to share. This is not supposed to be a representation of my day to day life as an American.

Sergio Torres - Don't apologize if you're a Nationalist. Anybody that doesn't have SOME positive feelings for their home country maybe needs to think about finding another one. Pretty much the alternative is to be a Globalist, and looking around outside the USA, the choices aint' lookin' all that good. I'll take a wild guess here, and say that you or your ancestors came here BECAUSE OF what the USA is, and THAT should be something people think about.

KnownEast nothing wrong with being nationalistic. The problem is everyone associates nationalism with Nazi Germany. They then call you a fascist/nazi for having some pride in the country you live in. You can still take issue with the problems your country has and causes, but still love said country at the end of the day. I see no issue with that at all.

You have to realise how Americans respect the flag no matter what people say or show in the media, in France for example you can always hear people talking, screaming during our anthem, but in America you hear no one, everybody respects the country, and show their love, and after they all chants USA, this is the most beautiful country, and the best people on earth, Thank you for everything you bring to the world America, you will always be the greatest.

The US is the most patriotic (nationalistic?) country in the world by an absolute mile. I'm Australian and I went there last summer (your winter) and the amount of American flags of all shapes and sizes that are literally placed everywhere in public and in private homes is mind-boggling. There are more US flags on the streets in America on any normal day than there are Australian flags on our National Day, its crazy. And each time the national anthem is sung, you guys put your hands over your hearts, something few other countries do. I think its one of the main reasons why the USA attracts so much negative attention and hate, among many other complex reasons. I think patriotism is a good thing, but only in a healthy dose, and there is something I find inherently uncomfortable in seeing videos like these where the masses are sent into an unthinking frenzy by the apparition of a giant flag and the discussion of the military. As I watched this video I could not help but be uncomfortably reminded of images of North Korea and Nazi Germany, and even Communist Russia, whose regimes whipped up nationalistic fervour in the masses in an extremely similar fashion. Nationalism- in my opinion the worst 'ism', the 'ism' which in its unchecked form leads to history's worst atrocities and crimes.
@chazzalinko

***** No trust me man, there are tons of US flags everywhere, if you look out for them you'll really notice. What you listed is already more than my country and any other that ive been to for that matter, and they really are in almost every public buildings, from restaurants to car dealers. And you are right there are many countries with nationalistic populations, but the USA has been proven by polls and stats that it is the most patriotic/nationalistic country on earth. This was greatly increased by/following the events of 9/11.

***** Don't assume, it makes you look stupid. No, I am not one of those 'USA-haters'; by contrast, I'm the opposite. Im a big fan of America and I think its one of the greatest countries on earth. I have many American family friends and my parents met in NY. Its a great country to visit, and it is closely associated to Australia in our way of life, living standards and ideology. However like many countries it has quite a few significant, critical flaws. And I can assure you I am not exaggerating. I merely stated what I saw- flags upon flags of all shapes and sizes fitted all over the place, exemplifying the great US nationalism that has been proven by polls, surveys and stats. So I am actually being reasonable here, not going down the 'Fuck the U.S.A' path but not going down the 'USA USA USA' path of blind nationalism which I feel you may be on.

It's funny how intimidated other countries are of our pride for our country. If they lived in a country they could be proud of they would understand. It's hard to find one.... but I do like Germany and Canada. They're alright. :)

Something like this is one of my favorite moments in my life. Standing at a godsmack concert with 10k+ people when the band started talking about our military and a large US flag shown on all the screens at the event and out of nowhere(im usually the most quiet person) I just got the urge to scream it at the top of my lungs USA USA USA USA and by the 4th time I yelled it 2500 people were chanting with me by the 5th 6th or 7th everyone in that fucking stadium. So awesome!

We as AMERICANS will not give up or give in. I'm a proud son of a VIETNAM VETERAN who served 2 tours with the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions.
