Just looking back after a recommendation. I love the video style so guess i have a few more to get to the current year! I am going to dig up an old wisteria of mine and was hoping for some hands on advice and experience. I've never observed these as bonsai so looking forward to seeing your approach. What month did you dig this one up and what potting medium did you transfer it into?

beautiful plant. wisteria is my obsession, strangely. i just grow a couple in the ground, just experimenting and watching how it grows/blooms year to year. after 12 years still discovering new things. i'd love to do a bonsai one day. thanks for sharing this video

Thank you! My next goal is to get this one it to bloom in the pot. I know it bloomed when it was growing in the garden.

@@smokyhillbonsai-gerrettmor6373 from what I’ve heard, it may flower better if you let it get a bit root-bound so don’t re-pot too often, and use a fertilizer with more potassium and little nitrogen. Good luck!

I am starting wisteria from a stomp in my garden. The info I found is that you need to prune to 4 eyes in the summer and 2 in the autum. Also that wen you pot it up it is best to get them root bount in a smal pot and put it constandly in up to3/4 in to a water base in the summer

I have a handful of wisteria I started from seed last year. Hopefully, they will be ready for bonsai training in another year or two.
