Nice video. I hate playing money and trade games. I still have major toons that haven't maxed their professions in Dragonflight, which by no stretch of the imagination has ever been the case in the past. And I finally gave up on the Lariat recipe a few months ago, crafted it on only two toons via a friend who got it almost immediately. Dragonflight goes down as one of my favorite xpacs; but my login record indicates the opposite. The compulsion to log in and hang out with friends while doing non-dungeon content isn't strong enough when they don't have time to do anything but M+ and raiding, which I stopped doing. Completionism is a game in itself, so when Blizz devs make it nigh impossible as a solo or casual player, that dramatically decreases incentive to log in very often. The less I log in, the less likely I am to complete even the keeping-up-with-the-joneses world content, save maybe one toon; that inability to even keep up itself becoming a disincentive. I might as well subscribe for only one month per season and accept the meh but adequate welcome-back gear, and give up the completionist goals for mogs, mounts, and even pets (dang it all). Just writing this comment has made me realize how much of the game I've given up trying to play, the parts that kept me playing continuously (but for some illnesses) for the last 17.5 years. I suppose I could also stop buying xpacs, just play as a completionist on all the older content as it becomes base content. Doesn't appear to me the soundest business model. I hope all the great accountwide changes and delves in 11.0 make solo play fun again for us shy people who have historically relied on guilds to access content.

Thanks for considering the casual/solo crafter. My big gripe with DF crafting was that it was oriented towards the MMO gold making factory approach to crafting. Whereas all I want is the RPG approach of gather mats, make gear and get transmog appearances for myself and alts. I made the DF system work for me by just putting points in to unlock every recipe so I could make everything. I didn’t worry about trying to max every craft cuz who cares about a little bit less ilvl when you’re a fecking casual player anyway 😂. By the way it would be great if you could show the armour and weapon appearances that the crafting professions unlock. I haven’t found anywhere yet that shows these.

The system is kinda simple, it's just that there's so many new terms flying around so the average joe isn't used to it yet. This is just the wrath days of whining about talent trees being too complex, when they actually never were. The only real issue with the professions has been the fact that you can't respec your points. That makes it so one mistake costs you the bulk of your points and you'll probably make no money until you get some tree filled out. For example, improved disenchanting or cloth finding are awful trees. Except maybe if you're a farmer and early on. Crafting is actually part of the game and the progression, not just a side thing where you use addons to squeeze out tiny margins and sit spamming the AH for hours and hours. Best part is that you can get every single gear you want, crafted for you, for material cost, especially if they're in your guild. You don't need to craft your own sword, but you can

This would require a few alts, but in theory (based on this video) you could gear up your warband using alts right? Right? Maybe do a BS + tailor (for cape) + enchanter + engineer for a belt ? It would be awesome if players could geer up by themselves using only professions, in a non extreme farming way.

Yes, massive improvements, agreed… so after relentlessly beating us bloody during Dragonflight, they are only going to beat us every other day… what a relief! By the time Blizzard will allow you to make that shield, there will be a better one already in the game, usually through easy content, meaning all that work was really for nothing… crafted gear rarely exceeds game gear and ALWAYS isn’t available until it’s useless… when Blizzard solves this problem, AND makes crafting where it’s relatively easy to figure out if it’s profitable, this is nothing more than hazing, nothing more than taking up my valuable time, and nothing more than turning the game into a pay-to-play… the system is designed to appeal to influencers who can play all day, not for those balancing jobs, school, relationships, and families. It is unnecessarily complex… simplifying the process should be their goal, not just renaming abuse, just to make me feel good about being only beaten about the shoulders vice being beaten about the head and shoulders!

Only crafted gear can have embellishments. Embellished gear will be best in slot.
@Shedovv
3 ай бұрын
That is precisely the problem that has been with WoW's crafting since forever. If youre an M+ Player or a Raider the only use you MIGHT have is if you need a specific slot covered and you just happened to have the needed mats. But if the RNGesus is kind, or cruel depending on how you look at it, you might get a drop for that slot in a few more runs. I personally dont do M+ or Raids. But I found it usefull to be able to craft my DK an axe at the beginning of every season, that early on was better than what I could get otherwise, and on par with things I could get for a couple weeks after too.
@7PlayingWithFire7
3 ай бұрын
@Shedovv so.... you came up with a problem for raids and m+, and then deemed it pointless, without having any actual idea of they are problems? Cause they're not. Raiders and m+ still buy weapons and armor pieces. In fact, every serious raider and m+ player would get crafted gear. If you got none, then you're not serious.
@Shedovv
2 ай бұрын
@@7PlayingWithFire7 What are you even on about? I did not come up with anything. As far as I know most people who are running raids run m+. Which gets you better gear than crafted - way faster, unless you have a personal crafter who is going to eat the cost on any mats that arent soulbound. Hence my original point. Having crafted gear as something "mandatory" is the kind of, pardon my french, autistic thing high end World First Racers and anyone who is trying to copy-cat them does. Anyone else who does raiding seriously would at most consider crafted gear a "nice to have". Especially due to how often it becomes useless compared to anything you can get out of content. Unless you are willing and able to dump a Long Boi's worth of gold on a full set of crafted gear "day one".
@7PlayingWithFire7
2 ай бұрын
@Shedovv yeah no you have no idea how crafting works. Getting a piece of gear for the entire season for a low crafting cost which you then pay more for the more higher end your m+ becomes. You have NO idea how crafting works. Tons of people make great use of crafting gear, using gold and materials they gain by simply playing, and crafted gear gets you access to specific pieces with specific embellishments, which arent a 1% thing, its just easy DPS. That's as stupid as arguing enchants, flasks and gems are a 1% thing. Not to mention the currency you get from doing m+ lets you upgrade that gear. Lots of people would love a pair of bracers that during the fight deal hundreds of thousands or millions of damage compared to regular bracers. Crafted gear is really good gear, and pretty easy to access, especially if you play the game. I have all my alts kitted out with full crafted gear for barely any effort.

I realise a lot of people make all their crafts useable by the character thta makes them but I foolishly back in the early days made my characters learn crafts tht just happened to be ones I didnt have already and gave them to any old character. So I have a Paladin leatherworker and a druid blacksmith (which I dont want to change as they have a bunch of very old patterns). So obviously they can make the purples in the learning phase but not use them for themselves. There is thankfully still the order system and I wonder if warbands make any easier to do that rather than having to swap in and out of characters to put in orders.

BoP should never exist. What crafter in their right mind would spend rare mats just to make items that they can only use for themselves? Sure they can use the order system to make things for their alts but at some point you've done it all for your alts. When I craft something I want to sell it to other players. Also the public order system is a joke as I haven't seen one public order for anything. All my orders are private so I can get the 3 points to add to my crafting system. For myself as a casual player this BoP was a horrible idea and never should have been introduced.
@SoulSoBreezy

I disagree; making the epic gear BoP is the only reasonable way to create a healthy economy of high level gear; you only need look back at Shadowlands to see the chaotic market of legendary base pieces. That in particular was a race between whales to quickly max out levels which overflooded the market; drove prices down and made it pretty pointless for any new crafter to participate at all. Nevermind that were the only reasonable things to make in hope for a good return. If DF epics were BoE it'd be a quick race to the bottom for prices, like most BoE markets where supply is sourced from players.

If I post my alloy at a price I think is good, then find out that it's selling for 10x more later because of a cancel scan.
