I was previously a Danganronpa fan and also found out about this game through some people that also were Danganronpa fans a year ago. I saw it and it’s coming out great! Considering getting it. Danganronpa was the OG game to me. I has a longer phase than any other game (a few years) and have loved it since I saw it. To me, even if a game was better written or had hotter characters, Danganronpa will always top it. Even though I’m saying this, this game overall looks great! Even though it’s not Dangan, we shouldn’t really let that be a downside and let us be less exited for it. As much as I love Danganronpa, we have to face the truth. Danganronpa has been around for almost 13 years now! It’s getting outdated.

@@RP-mp4ow as much as I ADORE dangan, it is getting kinda outdated. And once you play, you CAN play again, but there is only one storyline :( so I agree and, let’s be honest. The first game is the real OG
@RP-mp4ow

@@chez5620 i disagree with it being outdated. Phoenix Wright might be graphically dated, but its actually super charming and the game is still a masterpiece. But yeah, the first game was excellent and the writing that gave the game its WOW-factor only served to be a ball and chain for the continuance of the series. New game is pretty cool, they made some more attempts to bring in more gameplay to the VN environment, some work well some not so much. I'm sure it'll get ironed out and improved if, hopefully, we get another game.

I honestly loved every part of this game even the mystery labyrinths as they each had their own unique elements and except the first one weren’t straightforward at all. I found it really fun and that they improved on gameplay with deduction and logic. I can see the straight hallways occasionally being annoying but they aren’t that long or bothersome. I found the it all really refreshing and sad I finished it so fast! It was always very easy to get attached to all the characters and they wrapped it up in the best way I believe possible. Personally, i like the method for character interaction and find it superior to Danganronpa. What a chore it was in the Danganronpa games to have to get the backstory of 12 characters at the start of the game. Not to mention slogging through the free time events. I LOVE that getting to know the characters is integral to the plot of the game.

@@ougazu32 i think its more that the environment for Danganronpa was SUPER contained. All the following mysteries had to be with the characters from the start. Even if they have 3 danganrompa in the bag, some of the complain in Raincode could be made on the original Danganrompa, it can be quite repetitive to walk around the small areas, and the mini games to solve the mysteries are also quite repetitive. Raincode is hopefully the first in a series, the receipe will mature with new episodes. But don't get me wrong, it is good, and even if I've not finished chapter 3 yet, be prepared for a lot story to unpack, and that's what really DR and RC are about, the story.
