How interesting. I use to use plantain on any small wounds when I was a kid. All children did . It was growing everywhere, and kids just took leaves and put onto injured place . Now I use to do plantain infused oil and use it like a base for my best ever " mosquito bite " roller . I fill roller in with plantain oil as it has very good healing properties and add peppermint ( against pain ), lavander ( soothing and antibacterial) and basil ( best ever oil for mosquito bite) essential oils . My hub and daughter have very sensitive skin and they use to get bites from mosquitos all summer . They ve tried everything but noting worked so quickly as my " mosquito bite " so since 4 yrs I do it all the time for " mosquito season " 😀

Love the idea of a poultice for things like a bee sting or mosquito bite, too. Something to comfort & something you may be able to pull together when away from home if you know what you're looking for and can forage a bit, too!

I think one of the best is a salve made with arnica. But remember it is NOT edible. But if you would prefer to not make it, you can buy arnica cream at most pharmacies or in the pharmacy section of your grocery store. Love, Mary ❤️🤗❤️

Also your might have your vitamin D checked. Many times a deficiency in D causes lower back pain. D helps with inflammation, too. ❤

Your quite a thorough teacher. I never thought of applying herbs as a poultice, we often consume it as a paste: dried, ground tyme mixed with olive oil spread over bread. Ill be using it on my skin now.

Mary, could you please answer a very important question for me. I just got done making Calendula Oil. What can I do with the dried calendula after making the oil? Can I make a poultice with it. Thank you so very much.
@MarysNest
Жыл бұрын
That's a great question. I'm not sure I would use it for a poultice because the oil might block the ability of the poultice to flush germs of a cut, etc., However, that said, calendula is very soothing to the skin, so you might want to pulverize the flowers and then use them maybe as a facial mask. Just a thought but I hope others will chime in with recommendations and this certainly looked interesting: homesteadandchill.com/how-to-make-calendula-oil/#:~:text=While%20steeping%2C%20the%20natural%20active,salves%2C%20ointments%2C%20or%20cream! That’s a good question. I suspect the prevention of cataracts will be linked to diet. You will find this interesting: www.westonaprice.org/book-reviews/stop-vision-loss-now-by-bruce-fife/#gsc.tab=0 ❤️🤗❤️

Gently cooked pastured eggs (do not fry yolk to make it hard or you will destroy the benefit). They contain fats that are said to dissolve and prevent cataracts...

The pharmacist is the last resort and many of the things necessary for topical application are available over the counter and are never as good as what I make, and way cheaper, and much healthier, and the best choice for using on my kids. IMHO
