thats really helpful but only if you have all your texts in the same position through the whole timeline. How could I copy and paste for example only the background, stroke, shadow...and not the position of the text, If you could help me I would me more than glad
@dodmedia
Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately that's not doable if you've already made the text elements and positioned them individually. You need to have made the master text style and then the text elements so it doesn't undo your positioning. What you can do though is have the text center screen with whatever justification you want, and then move the text with motion properties rather than within the essential graphics position properties. That way their position remains unchanged while you adjust those features. But as I say the starting point is to have it all centered and then move each one as needed. Sorry

hello there. thank you so much for the info - great help! one more question tho: I am trying to also automatically have all my subtitles aligned to the center - seems like the master style only affects text style and appearance.. but is there a way to have alight also be included in the style? thank you in advance!

@dodmedia

I don't think it can be saved as an individual file (I'm not sure maybe it can!) But a workaround is to create a template project file that has this master style already applied

Thanks for the video! Do you know if there is anyway this master text style can also save the position of the texts? I'm making dual language subtitle and two texts happened to be in the same position generated by the program I use so I need to move the whole series of one subtitle down so both languages can show.. Thanks in advance!
@dodmedia
4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not it only affects the style not the transformation, but you could quite easily move one text layer down in the effect controls panel position and then save that as a preset so you can select your whole track of that subtitle and add the preset to it so it moves them all down at once. That's how I go about it when doing dual subs. Hope that helps!

@@dodmedia Hi! Thank you so much for the fast reply :) But, I don't know how to 'save as a preset' in the effect panel.. I did move the subtitle down a bit but that's as far as I could go.. Sorry for another question..!

Cheers! I use the Essential Graphics panel a lot so it's handy that I can edit the text within that too instead of needing yet another panel for legacy titles.

is there some process that works the same but with text alignment? Such as doing something with text box subtitles? like if I want the box to be more towards the middle, is there a way I can modify one and then paste it to all of them instead of going into each individual one by hand?
@dodmedia
4 жыл бұрын
It should work the same way with the text boxes as they're part of the text style (you mean the background box you can add right?)
@ellusionistninja

@@dodmedia I figured it out. Nest all the captions together then move the placement of the nest up or down.
@dodmedia

Oh gotcha sorry I misunderstood. You could also copy the layer with the corrected position, then select all your other subtitles and press Ctrl+alt+V and paste the Motion attributes. (CMD+opt+V on mac)

Not sure but when the template is on the bin area I highlight it and press delete and I think that worked for me.
