There's really not a lot of information on the Army & Navy other than that it was first published in David A. Embry's How To Mix Drinks published in 1948 and it is a Gin Sour which replaces simple syrup with Orgeat (Almond Syrup). It is also one of my very favorite citrus drinks and I think you guys will love it!
NOTE: I am not sure what possessed me to flub the name of David Embry's book in this video seeing as I own a copy! (pressed for time? end of the day? not sure!) but the name of the book is: The Fine Art Of Mixing Drinks by David A. Embry. Here's a link to it in case you wanted to check it out: amzn.to/2BROJxM
