I don't think these people understand how useful this actually is. What if your machine is packed full of tools with room for only one chamfer tool but your part has multiple chamfer angles, guess what, this process would be perfect! I used this process to chamfer the outside of a complex bone plate. MULTIPLE chamfer sizes AND angles all done with one toolpath. 20x faster than using a radius end mill and surfacing like most would do!

Yep, I can see that's an over killed there, Giang. 5X machine for a 2D chamfer? I can see what you were trying to do was really benefit for education purpose and that CAN BE DONE only, which is good to know. But in the real world, if you own a shop and have your 5X machine handle this simple 2D chamfer which can be done on 3X with less programming knowledge, effort and time? you surely think about cost effectiveness, don't you? Thanks for sharing your tip with us!

sure, you have the right to choose the best way to do. If some day you have a rush part and have to wait some days to get the special tool for that odd chamfer, maybe you will think it differently. Thanks for watching this.

@@GIANGTHETOOL why are you thanking me? i tried your method but it burnt my mastercam i wouldn't generate the tool path ? do you know why? i did exactly like your instructions picked a 5mm spot tool, then gemtry , drive surface, title the head 3 degrees at 5 axis but nothing then crashed cause it wouldn't generate. never before had this happened

I think in practice it would take more like 3-5min. Obviously this was slowed down to show each step.
