I just recently found your channel. Thank you very much! It's so informative.I have severe proliferative diabetic retinopathy. It is unfortunately progressing. I'm so new to all of this. I recently was laid off from my work (along with 8,000 of other employees). It's a new reality for me and I want to learn how to use assistive equipment and hopefully I could be helpful to others in my situation. I'll be very happy to learn and to connect with others.

THis has been so helpful to me, thank you so much! I never knew what most of those options were for, or what they did. Thank you for teaching me these things. I still have half of your video to watch for later, can't wait! (Got to do some work first!) Have a wonderful weekend, Sam! Thanks from Molly, in Florida

I learned several things from Sam's video even though I've been using both a iPhone and IPad for years. Very useful video to me.

Thank you for the overview. You explained some items I hadn’t really understood before. Sometimes I wish she would go a little bit more in-depth or slower so I can actually understand but then I also understand that I need to play with this myself, despite my fears of changing my phone settings, and not being able to go back. I always appreciate your videos and I learned so much from you. 0:23

I would really appreciate it if you could go a little slower. And go into a little bit more detail about each feature, because some of the features are pretty scary to me, because I don’t know what they mean, and I have had a few scares trying to figure out how to undo the mess I created. I was trying to follow along with you, but I couldn’t keep up.

You can go to the transcript of this video and use to your jump to different sections of the video and replay it again and again. Also on videos like this that have a lot of useful information. I find replaying it several times makes the controls more familiar and understandable.

You can also set playback speed to a lower setting, that might help.

Great video. I also add a few options in control center. Text size is probably the most helpful. Not every app or website plays nicely with my default text size; lines overlapping, parts of the content is off screen and inaccessible, etc. Being able to quickly alter text size on the fly can make life a bit easier.

Great video, your making me go through my settings and checking things again when it comes to accessibility, I do have to say that the display zoom option on the ipad doesn't show as larger text, but rather as more space, it's a bit confusing as the default option says that default shows larger controls while the more space shows more content. Do the way it's writen I'm not sure which one is the larger text one when it comes to the ipad. Also you mention home screen and multitasking, when the setting on newer IOS OS says home screen and app library, it was a bit confusing when you said the multitasking because of on some ipads you have a setting that's multitasking and gestures.

@@theblindlife what I’m referring to specifically is zooming out once you’ve zoomed in, it seems like to me you have to zoom in more and then you can zoom out it’s weird. It’s hard to explain.

Yes. There's a whole section in settings for accessibility for Android as well. A lot of them are the same as in ios, but just have different names

Can someone please clarify for me. Why does my zoom region always change between full screen and window zoom eventhough i never changed anything. For context, i originally set it to full screen zoom but it sometimes changes to window zoom at random points. Is this a bug or glitch?

Probably a glitch, because I've never had that happen on any of my devices.

I have a problem with browsers. It doesn't seem to matter which browser I'm using, whether it's Safari or Firefox. Neither one of them use dark mode, even if I set them that way
