I'm super excited to watch Michael for the second time on this show. I always learn new stuff after watching him.

This is Great ! Could you tell me please if in need my addin to be written in c# in order to able to assign its functions by hotkeys? I’ve tried this with simple pyRevit addin and it doesn’t work.

Add-ins written in C# can be assigned shortcuts, provided they are registered as Command add-ins in the .addin file. I didn't cover this in the session but there are two primary types of add-ins in Revit, Command add-ins and Application add-ins. Command add-in are launched through the "External Tools" button in the Add-in ribbon. Application add-ins are typically launched from buttons in the ribbon. An add-in can be both a Command add-in and an Application add-in, it all depends on how you configure the .addin manifest file. If an add-in is registered as a Command add-in in the .addin file, it will appear in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog. I'm not super familiar with pyRevit but I suspect its .addin file doesn't register your custom tools as Command add-ins, which is why you don't see them as options in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog.

@@ArchSmarter Thank You - I've enjoyed your lecture very much. Greetings from Poland ! PS Do you know if there is any API limitation that prohibits the rotation of a family instance in more than one plane? I'm referring to the "Can't rotate element into this position." I would like to write my own program (in C# or Python) that would allow me to place family instances rotated in arbitrary planes. Righ now we have to jump trough hoops and loops and do it manually.
