Hi there! Hope all is well. Just managed first lesson with your app. I now getting the basics of how to work app and already found my brain connecting with different ways of understanding them. I would say that when it gets to the Random practice I was thinking it could be good to keep the same sequence until the person hits the notes without faulter. I think this would help me want to get it right and therefore practice more with it. Like that tiny bit of challenge of meeting your goal. Just a thought. Happy to say so far the money spent is already worth it.

A good lesson overall, not just for Sølo! I sometimes play arpeggios in exactly that wrong way! I didn't realize it was wrong, it does sound a bit bright and bouncy!... thanks for the heads up!
@SoloApp

Indeed! I wouldn't say it's 'wrong' to practise that way at all, and it's certainly a great place to start. However, so many guitars players stop there, getting stuck anchored to these fixed paths. Some of these exercises are a good shock to the system, and Solo can help ease the cognitive load!

Hey, David, amazing video! Can't wait for it to be released on the Android platform. Is it possible that instead of showing the note names (e.g., A, B, C) the app would instead show the equivalent in standard notation? That way, at the same time we would be practising our intervals and fretboard knowledge we could also be practising sight-reading! Seems like a win-win situation for me :)

Hey João, glad you’re enjoying the content whilst waiting for the Android release. Believe me when I say there’s no one want that ready as much as us! Standard notation isn’t something new considered for solo, we wanted to keep the focus on training this one particular skill. However there’s definitely other possibilities in the future.

Hello guys. Suppose that I'm practicing the level´´Four Chord Tones´´ and select the option ´´Root, 3rd,5th,7th´´ (which is the root position). If SOLO asks me to play 1,5,3,7 of a CMaj7 chord, both answers will be recognized as correct: --------------------- -------------------- --------------------- -------------------- ------------------4-- --------------------- -------5----2------- ------------2------- --3------------------ ----3-----------2-- --------------------- --------3----------- The question is: Was this particular levels meant to stick strictly with the selected inversion? If so, only the 1st TAB is correct, because the 2nd one belongs to the 2nd inversion. I would like to clarify it.
@SoloApp
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Rodolfo, that level is just the order that the interval functions occur, so either is fine. We will be introducing more specific directional features in future updates that will make this more challenging.

The apps awesome but was just wondering if in the future there could be a feature for custom scales for instance I’m working on a Mixo-Dorian minor pentatonic Hybrid scale for blues with the major 3rd from Mixolydian. Also this same feature could be used to make your own custom chords progressions for different songs. I envision like a user forum where people post tunes. Anyway I know there’s a lot that goes into making that happen but just some feedback 🤩 thanks for your hard work and this app is awesome!

I've purchased Solo and am enjoying it... The simplicity enables amazing flexibility. The "no rush" philosophy is brilliant, as users can add the time element on their own with a metronome. Also, I think (?) that one could use Solo to practice bending to a target note (a topic that I've not yet seen), as the pitch-detection doesn't seem concerned about how you get there :-)
@SoloApp

Hi Michael, thanks for using Solo, really glad you're enjoying it! I'd be careful with using it to check bending however, there's a little wiggle room in the tolerance and it might trigger before you get there, microtones and whatnot.

Maybe dumb question: is there a mode in Solo in which instead of “simply” asking you to play chord tones of a written Chord (A, F#, etc), Solo instead challenges you to play chord tones from the “5th chord”/“7th chord”/“4th chord” of the progression/scale we’re in?
@SoloApp
3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nikoo, not currently. We're utilising chord function behind the scenes, but there's a whole bunch of theoretical and educational things to consider presenting that user side. As things develop though, you never know!

This is a little odd because you already know the arpeggio shapes and where the intervals are. I would have demonstrated it as if you were a beginner.

Can you explain the difference between choosing the 1,3,5,7 randomized inversions function vs choosing the 1,3,5,7 exercise and then hitting random. Aren't these the same since you are still using Autumn leaves chord change progression in both exercises? Thanks
@SoloApp
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Allen, let me try to explain, this could get confusing! the level "1, 3, 5, 7 random inversions" will only ever give you the following permutations. 1, 3, 5, 7 3, 5, 7, 1 5, 7, 1, 3 7, 1, 3, 5 choosing the level "1, 3, 5, 7" and turning on randomise will give you all possible 24 permutations, which is a fair bit harder. Hope that makes sense! 🐝
