I am impressed and grateful for your capability in teachin someone about "heli's' very special character which addicts people to it forever. I "only" fly RC- helicopters since the 70-ties and still these devils are in my mind. The only one flight in a heli I did in a jet-ranger over alcatras 1981. Thank you very much for all your work -I am extremely jealous...

I honestly have to say that your explanation of how complex it is to hover and to fly a helicopter and how all three main controls have influence on eachother was the best I have ever seen. You are explaining complicated stuff in a very understandable way without simplyfying. Really great. One question is on my mind for a long time: Does the T-shaped movable cyclic stick does feel very different than the "classic" and somehow "fixed" cyclic control of a Hughes or Bell heli? I can imagine that the rotation movement in the (almost) middle of the T gives another feel. Does a Bell or Hughes pilot need a while to get used to this cyclic control? Or the other way around? I am flying RC helis and that it's not really simple makes my love and passion for flying them so deep! It's a lifelong learning experience.

Hello and thank you so much for your kind comments. Regarding the T-bar, when held properly pilots don’t usually feel any difference.

@@flyhighytbwithcarolapilote Thank you for your answer! It's good to know that the pilot does not feel any difference. The cyclic control is so sensitive and so essential - if there would be a real difference in feel Frank Robinson would probably never came up with this idea.

having a go at hovering and take offs in a n ice big field .. the slight slope attempts were interrupted by Dave Nieman asking me if I planned to go over the hedge or through it .. OH THAT hedge .. I was concentrating so hard i had failed to notice the backward steps with each of my pathetic attempts at taking off .

I'm a fixed wing pilot and helicopter flying sounds confusing. it sounds like you need three sets of hands and feet to fly one! But I think I get it...
