I have learned so much from you Nate! I keep coming back. I almost cried when I saw this video title. I really hope to see more videos on having and training two puppies. Raising 2 is definitely a challenge. But is it full of reward each time we have success. My pups love training. But they also love to show me when they want to do what they want.... lol. Your videos have been a savior. Honestly, I may have returned one of the pups if I hadn’t had these great videos to turn to for help. (I really had no idea what I was getting myself into when I agreed to bring 2 pups home). Like others have mentioned.... it’s kinda about training me... lol. It is a journey and your guidance is priceless!!!! Thank you!!

Hey, I have two puppies. A golden retriever and a German Shepherd. I got the retriever first and she's two months older than the german Shepherd even then the german Shepard has started to bite my golden retriever. I've seperated them to stop the german from biting the retriever but as soon as open them up to play with them, the german starts the biting again. These aren't playful bites. Any tips?

Hi Shamail, I would have to see a video of the two dogs interacting to know what option would be best moving forward. If they are still puppies, I would guess it's play, but I could be wrong. Check out this video on my behavioral modification flowchart. kzitem.info/news/bejne/w4ahvWeJkJSdmYI

I break Nate's rules and always pay for it. I still train two pups at the same time even though I know it's wrong. Miss you Nate and I hope all is going well with the new addition.

It's okay to train two dogs simultaneously after each one has been thoroughly trained separately. Since adding a new dog is a high distraction when training, both dogs should be pretty obedient already. The two dogs in this video were not ready to be trained together, so the owner is working with both dogs separately a little more to help better prepare them. Cheers!

@@NateSchoemer I love your training just sometimes I have to learn the hard way. I should have listened but walking two dogs at the same time was easier. Or so I thought. Cheers

Nate, I know the impulse to make money off of skill and talent but please stick to what you do best, training humans to train dogs, not marketing.

Thanks. However, I have a family to support and marketing helps pay the bills. 😁

It's kinda funny how he looks at me when he so badly wants to jump and doesn't. The strangers who say "That's OK " when he half jumps are hard for us. I'm training him to be a therapy dog.

Hey Nate, I have been watching you since i got a belgian, she is 6 months old now and I followed each tips and guides for training my dog that you said in your video but one thing i have been struggling is that my dog is very reactive to bicycles. Do you have advice how to prevent this from happening?

I also like putting one in a crate with a quiet toy (such as a stuffy or peanut butter mat) within line of sight while I train the other one, soon after they start "getting it" in separate rooms by themselves. It adds a controlled amount of distraction for the dog actively being trained, while also giving the other dog the chance to watch the training from a different perspective. It not only helps prepare them for group training, but it also helps them pick up things that they may be struggling with on their own. Of the two I work with most frequently, Red excels at automatic Stay and Leave It (when the "it" is a toy or treat) while Luna excels at Climb/Off and Sit-on-Approach. Luna struggles to hold a position when faced with something she likes, but after watching Red get five treats for ignoring one in the session right before hers, she reduces the immediate self-break to a wiggly crawl while she waits to be released. On the other hand, Red has a harder time figuring out which position he's supposed to get into but is content to just hang out once he gets there, so watching Luna get on the couch, lie on the couch, sit up on the couch, get off the couch, sit on the floor, and so on helps him see the commands carried out repeatedly and he learns by example. They do really well with group training at home even with one person working both at the same time, and they've been making a lot pf progress with individual training "in the wild" so to speak. Red still needs to work on his reactivity, but since Luna knows to automatically sit whenever greeting another person or dog, he figures out how to bring down his own energy as she keeps getting attention before him.
