In this video, we discuss Pot Odds and why they matter. Poker math is fun!
Understanding pot odds is necessary to playing good, strong, fundamentally sound poker. Too many players base all of their decisions on whether they think they are ahead or behind, but learning how to compare pot odds & equity will open up your strategy so that you can fully realize your win rate!
Pot odds & equity are how poker professionals determine whether a play is profitable in the long run. Pot odds are calculated by dividing the amount of the call by the size of the pot AFTER you have called. So, if you're facing a $10 bet and the current pot size is $90, your pot odds would be 10:1, meaning you only need to beat 10% of the hands your opponent would bet!
