First time I heard Louie Vega, I was about 16 years old and I heard him at this club on the west side of NYC called “Hearthrobs” which was the original “Funhouse” club. I met Kenny at “The Music Center” in Sunset Park Brooklyn where we were both born and raised at. I had two friends who were brothers and they both taught me to dj when I was about 17 and I would always go to the music center and buy tapes/records from there. Me and Kenny got real cool as the years went by to the point where I would go to the music center on a Saturday morning and Kenny would be in the back of the store with like 3-5 boxes of domestic and import tracks, he would see me walk to the back and he’d be like “you ready blow your whole check?” I would laugh and ask him “you got the treats”? He would laugh as well and show me the boxes of records that he just received. I would spend hours listening to everything that Kenny played till either I got tired or I knew I wasn’t gonna have enough money for all the records where in some occasions totaled about $200 - $300 on records and yes, 95% of the time....I spent my whole check, LMFAOOOOO!!! Great times and great memories. Big shout out to Louie and Kenny. True legends!!!

God I love those guys! They Changed my life and I praise the good lord for uniting these two geniuses. I fell in love with House Music back then in the same time period because of Masters at Work and Todd Terry! The scene is not the same anymore and it is sad. No soul anymore ,I hope to see House Music come back to the feeling! Their is only a few still creating and these two are part of it.

Brian Moore Yes!!!! To me what I hear sounds all the same, remember when you can tell who produced what, you heard a track and instantly said, yeah that’s Loui or that’s Todd Terry or Keri Chandler, now I’m lost! Lol🤣 I just don’t pay too much attention anymore to who’s who in the game.

absolutely brilliant, how the awkward/incorrect question, is diffused from lil louie vega and lou bega.... these guys are my music/dj heros. a massive section of my vinyl, cd and mp3 collection, stem from these guys. either they play the music, featured on a cd or have expertly remixed or produced it. their golden touch, flows over most things in house and dance history. just a quick note also. thanks to Alan Fearnley records, Middlesbrough, who always set aside for me, "EVERTHING" MAW. i wanted it and he knew i'd lap it up. top fella and i miss those days, skipping uni to go and search through the masses of vinyl and cd's. peeps don't understand how things were back in the day. no mp3's, you tube, i-tunes but there was always vinyl. glad these guys are still pressing forward with the vinyl media. long live MAW. definately the black gold of my sun....
