As Brann pointed out, there is no other grief like that over someone who'd died by suicide. My husband, beloved metalhead who introduced me to Mastodon, died by suicide September 23, 2012. Demons slain, may all who die by suicide journey through peaceful light. For Brann's Skye, for my Aric, for them all, I wish you love.

THIS is what always stood out most about the CTS album. Musically it's superb, but it runs sooo much deeper than previous records. All that pain and suffering transmuted into sonic release. Catharsis. And, in turn, the record can help others who have sadly had the same/similar experiences. So thank you, Mastodon, for having the balls to put out something like this, something that reflects the human condition so well.
