Application from thrusting attack:
Parry the incoming thrust by stepping offline and brushing away the attack with the spine of the sai, keeping the spine pointed away from your arm/body. Open the sai up and outward block the incoming downward strike. Before the next strike comes from your opponent, close the sai back to your arm, when the upward attack comes, shift your weight further and glance the incoming blow against the spine of your sai, keeping the spine away from your body/arm. From this point step forward and dig the prongs of your sais into their front arm, pulling their lead arm off their weapon before they strike while the butt of the lead arm sai driving into the opponent's head (MHN-17, GB-1, TW-17) if possible. Step forward and push your lead sai again into their head keeping their head turned while keeping control of their lead arm with your other sai. Step forward from this point and do a downward attack to the head or collarbone with your lead sai. Repeat this motion again. If your opponent at this point comes at you with an overhead strike, step backwards and push your sais up in a crossing formation to catch the weapon or arms depending on the distance from your opponent. As you step back and make this block, pull your crossing block back to the top of your head, attempting to strip the weapon from their hands. Follow up by stepping forward and striking both sais to either side of your opponents head (GB-1) and drive the prongs into their head if you can.
