This week sees me heading to the mighty Southfield Reservoir, match fishing with the Yorkshire Bandit Angling Club.
Recent results in the NuFish Feeder King and DDAA matches had shown that the reservoir just wasn't fishing for bream that it is so famous for. Instead the midweek DDAA match had been won with an incredible 33lb bag, the top 3 weights in the match were all caught pole fishing for roach.
With this in mind, I decide to spend a limited amount of time long range feeder fishing for bream and plan to catch roach as short as possible pole fishing and, if conditions allow and the fish are willing to come in close, whip fishing.
The rules which the DDAA and NuFish Feeder King matches are run by, do not apply to YBAC club matches, therefore, you are free to try anything you wish on Southfield Reservoir.
Watch on to see how I approach the venue when there's more to consider than the feeder fishing for bream. I give you the low down on my Southfield Reservoir tactics and take you from the draw to the weigh in and deliver my post match analysis to help you decipher this often difficult venue.
