The contestant Kerry Newlin actually worked in game shows after her appearance on "Match Game"--she may've been a PA at Goodson-Todman, married G-T staffer Joel Hecht and was the contestant booker on "Whew!" In July 1979, she interviewed me for the show and called me to come back to LA for the second interview, but I had to go into the hospital. Oh well.

Yah I thought that too. In her later years she seemed to have changed to a more obnoxious or strung out kinda way. I'd I can't describe it. She got terribly heavy. @@charleswhite4634 This was before she made it really big. In '74, she played the small role of Myrna on "The Odd Couple", and was married to Rob Reiner who was a big deal on CBS at the time, playing Mike "Meathead" Stivic on "All in The Family" It would be another 2 years before she'd hit pay dirt on "Laverne & Shirley".

Richard Dawson must have died a broken man. Although he got Family Feud and did so well with it, I think his greatest wish was to be Gene Rayburn and host Match Game. He lasted so long on MG because Rayburn was such an affable host, but you could tell that he knew that Richard wanted desperately to host the Match Game.

Richard just knew he had the gift to be a game show host. And he got his wish. Now the part that really sickened me wad the kissing of every woman on the llips. I can remember back when he first got his fuel gig, my grandma saying how disgusting that kissing on the lips was. I just thought then as a kid that my grandma was just being a little prudish. But gram u were spot on. It is now even more disgusting to see him slobber over every woman. God Only Knows Where those people's lips were. I'm sure there were a few woman that didn't want to kiss him like that but we're just too nice to kiss him on the cheek. Every time I see him pucker up, I say to myself oh how he violated them woman. Horns ass. Lol
