Nice unbiased review. Think we all admit the ref team did not have the greatest game. As a supporter you tend to miss the ones that goes your way.

During a yellow card - a penalty will eat up 60 seconds whilst a lineout will eat 3 to 4 minutes and together with attrition factors ( we were 1 back down) so taking a penalty will give the opposition 69 seconds to rest … I’m sure Dr Rassie has more science to this. Love the detail thanks

Please check / have a closer look to your second double banking incident . The kiwi player makes contact with the ball carrier. So that cant be double banking. The boks player was on the side of the kiwi.

Happy to find your videos. On TJ, we can’t judge fairness without knowing what players are told before the game/competition. There’s a clear crackdown on 9s in the RC so they were very likely warned. If not, it’s unfair.

When Fassi was off, it is possible that we went for touch BECAUSE Fassi was off. Try for more points because it keeps us down that side of the field for longer. If you take the penalty, ninety seconds later sees you potentially defending in your own 22 with a man down. None of us know what Rassie's brain is doing lol, but I remember this kind of forward planning with Jake White in the 2007 RWC, although then it was more what to do in the final minutes.

TJ just needs to keep his mouth shut. He's lippy in Super rugby too. Apparently, he didn't swear or name call the ref, so if that's correct, then I think it shouldn't have been a penalty. With the shock clock, apparently, the time we see is indicative and can vary to what the officials/ref time is. Your kicking stats highlight how obvious it is that the ABs need to keep ball in hand if they want to beat the Boks. It was excruciating to watch Beaudy kick the ball away in the 78 & 79th minute last week. Good clear explanation on the double banking rule, I've read a lot of comments asking what it's all about. Keep up the good work. Cheers 🍻.

The missed point about Sacha's shot clock was he didn't think it was on coz 1. The ABs were still with the ref checking on try and 2. The water people were walking towards him as he set the ball. He didn't think the ref had started counting down.

@user-vs2hr1wq8d Yeh, I agree. It looked/sounded like there was some genuine confusion from Sasha. Ref was sh#thouse for both sides. What a 10 he's going to be for you guys, to play like he did last week @ 22 yrs of age....scary. Enjoy the game. Cheers 🍻

I’d prefer if all refs either penalised players for shouting at them or first gave them a very firm warning similar to how Nigel Owens puts loud mouthed players in their place. I remember when he told one player “I don’t think we’ve met but I’m the referee, not you!” And then told the player what would happen if they kept shouting at him. I think it was Wayne Barnes who immediately sent off the captain of Leicester in a final for calling him a “$&%£+*% cheat”.

TJ's shouldn't have been a penalty, just a warning. Was particularly harsh as the All blacks were in a strong attacking position and TJ was reacting to a SA player who interfered with the ball slowing down the attack as they were getting out the way at the back of the ruck. The ref was too inexperienced for such a big game imo

Forgot to mention that obvious red card incident on siya. High tackle
@Karma-qt4ji
10 күн бұрын
It was not a red card. The TMO looked at it and came back with a decision of nothing more than a penalty. This was dealt with in the game and the Boks were given the option of where to take the penalty from because they already had a penalty awarded. As we saw with Siya and Eben in the RWC and Malcolm against Aus, not every head contact is an automatic red and in my opinion, head contacts in the RC have been dealt with a lot less severely than they are in URC / EPRC. Malcolm for instance would almost certainly have been red carded for that Australia head contact if the game was in the URC.
@Tomk79rhby

@Karma-qt4ji Nonsense. They missed it. Head contact in a tackle is always a yellow card, according to the rules, and then is referred to the bunker. Agree it wasn't a red card, otherwise the match official would've cited. But don't pretend it was reviewed.
@Karma-qt4ji

@@Tomk79rhby At 48:51 (game time), Sacha was standing in front of the referee with ball in hand waiting to take the penalty. Referee said in his comms 'just a penalty is it?', then turned to Siya and said you have two options, adding that "we don't need to review". He then called turned to the All Blacks (Scot B) and said, "it was a high tackle by seven, okay. It's a penalty only we need to go lower". The game is still on KZitem - go and see for yourself. It was 100% dealt with whether you like the decision or not. Remember the bleating from the Scottish about Jesse Kriel's head on head with one of their guys in the opening game? The contact happened, there was not even a penalty awarded and you're here saying that every head contact is a yellow card???
@Tomk79rhby
10 күн бұрын
@Karma-qt4ji You first said that it was reviewed by the TMO. Now you said that the ref said it didn't need to be looked at. So which is it. That was my point. They missed the head contact. And it wasn't reviewed. Yes. Head contact in a tackle meets a minimum yellow card threshold every time unless a player falls into a tackle or something like that. If you don't know that, you haven't been watching. It was introduced to try and stamp that sort of thing out for player safety. So dishonest to point at past examples where it wasn't picked up to try to prove a point. In those instances the ref/TMO missed it too.
@Karma-qt4ji

@@Tomk79rhby drop the semantics and stop playing the victim, boet. The TMO advised the referee that the incident was a penalty only, the referee advised both sides. What more do you want? "or something like that" ..... hmmmm, so the referee himself called a "fell into that" in one of the moves leading up to Kwagga's try and you don't have a problem, but the TMO looks at something, advises the referee that it was a penalty only, the referee tells both sides of the decision and you're not happy that a card wasn't shown? This is a JK argument - whinge about the TMO when they do their job and whinge about the TMO when they allegedly don't. We actually WANT the TMO to be in the background, taking care of these things without having to constantly stop the game. We were on the front foot, had built up some tidy momentum, so why would we want the game to be stopped so we could all have a look at an impact that YOU think should have been carded? I am going to assume you have at least watched the incident a couple of times, so do not believe that the officials standing there taking 5 minutes to look at an incident on the big screen would in any way alter your opinion - it would merely have pissed off the crowd. Also, in the context of this thread, and in light of the fact that I have proven to you that they did not miss it as you originally said, why are you now changing your argument? They saw it, TMO looked at it, came back with "penalty only" so if you can't trust in the process then at least trust that the Boks are now at a place where they can play to the whistle without throwing their hands up in the air like some of their fans.
