Good Morning, Marty! A great way to enjoy a quiet Sunday morning here in Colorado. I know that Kevin has many Fans here on the channel. I have to say tho' that the care that you show to these old toys and the quality of the restoration ( brought back to new ) are what brings me back every time. Thank you for the video!

Lesney were always proud that they never used lead paint. To the point that they also ensured that the inks used in printing the boxes were lead free. The boxes, and later, the blister packs always had 'Model and package guaranteed lead free' printed on them. Beautiful result. Lovely little truck.

Wonderful work Marty! I played with so many of the models you restore back in the 1960s and it is such a treat to see you make them look like new again. Didn't have the Bedford van, but certainly had a Pickfords one with the plastic slide-up door. Sadly for me, my own son showed no interest in toy cars (of any scale) whatsoever - it was all electronic games for him. Different times!

One of the things I love about your channel Marty is the variety you get whilst showing the restorations. It might be cracking a few jokes, it might be Kevin up to mischief, and the newspapers in the spray booth. In the end though you do wonderful work with historic toys, bringing them back to life again. So a vlog with no extras makes absolute sense because it focuses on you love for these models. And to be honest - I'm happy with that!

That is a stunning looking model/restoration. It's simple, yet eye catching and a simple restoration is satisfying. On another note, Julie's figure is nowhere near half moon like a cotter pin. The round "defects" you asked about are made by the ejector pins built into the mould. If they don't retract all the way between shots they leave a depression. Could also occur if the metal was still hot and the casting was stuck.

Nice resto Marty, I enjoyed the simple no nonsense approach. I agree totally on the use of chrome pens, the plain silver is much more authentic. I really dislike seeing chrome being used where it shouldn't.

Nice one Marty, another one looking brand new.👌👍😁 Like you said, so simple, but a really handsome little model. These early commercial vehicles are my favourite Matchboxes - superb and well detailed, especially for the 1950s. Funny, you're about the fourth restorer I've heard say that they're not using the Molotow chrome as much now; I think the novelty is wearing off. The silver looks much more "period correct". Cheers for now, Dougie.

Circles are ejector pins from the die cast. Commonly used to eject plastic and metal parts from a mold. The parts are still soft when they leave the mold so the pins make a mark. plmgroup.eu/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/tPtJ47GEevu4xGeVzlWQR2gGsav4bFxjHEbqmr2wykg1.jpg

Back to your roots with this one Marty, great restoration. As for the decal font I think that it is good for it to be slightly different to the original as in the future when it is no longer in your hands less possibility of someone passing it off as a mint original, that is another reason some of us use the chrome ink to detail as this was not used by Lesney.
