How much YOG is too much to apply in ophthalmology in US? For ex., is doing a residency in family medicine in Canada (2 years), then doing USMLEs for one year, then applying the next year too much? I Graduated in 2020 in Canada

Quick question about ECFMG Certification. Since IMGs need Step 2 CS for certification, and USMLE has suspended CS testing for 12-18 months, what does that mean for us?

Do we have to apply to daignostic radiology and interventional radiology separately? Or we can go to interventional radiology after daignostic radiology residency?
@uwrongmerightjalbwaddaeng

Radiology residency is your baseline, after that, you can take up any one of the fellowships, 2 of which are diagnostic and interventional. Nothing is stopping you from completing your diagnostic fellowship and then going back and doing an interventional fellowship as well (either directly after if you want to, or even years later), many people do that too! But there's no shorter route to it, you'll have to complete both the fellowships individually if you want the option to do both. But again, having multiple fellowships is only a positive when you're applying for jobs!

What about doctors working outside US like UK/ Germany. Can they get a match after passing USLME and no American experience?
@YashaGuptaMD

Usually you need some experience in the US but I am honestly not sure as I don’t have a lot of experience with these situations.

The europe countries have their own standardised test (PLAB), so you'll have to give those to match into a residency! (But if you've done a residency in US, and are then trying to practice in the UK, I'd assume it'll be the same process as any other international resident applying for a job there)

Hussein SA A LOR that is specifically tailored to ur experience and the things u accomplished during ur rotation will be much more valuable than a LOR simply utilizing the generic “he’s a hard worker” format.
