We usually show very modern manufacturing plants with a lot of technology. This time we are going to visit a factory that requires a lot of employees and simpler equipment. The factory is located in Pakistan and is one of the leaders in its segment.
The matchstick is one of the most used articles in the world. Oh, and a curiosity, did you know that the phosphorus component doesn't stay in the head of the toothpick? It is in the rough part of your box.
Let's start with the main raw material, which is the wood trunk. The trunks are sawn to about 50 centimeters in length.
The first layer is cut manually.
Its core is positioned in the lathe, where it is peeled off in thin layers.
The layers are about 1 millimeter long, and that's exactly the thickness of the toothpick.
The sheets are accumulated and placed in the punching machine. Knives cut sheets to standard length and width. The mat takes the chopsticks to the container.
From the container, they pass through a vibrating belt, which removes the sticks with non-standard sizes.
Through suction ducts, the equipment accumulates them in trays. First the chopsticks are dipped in a glue solution.
Then they are dipped in a sulfur and oxidizing tank. It is precisely in the contact between sulfur and phosphorus that the toothpick ignites the fire.
The toothpicks spend about an hour in these trays for the components to dry completely. This factory makes about 2 million matches an hour!
Starting to be placed in the boxes, the machine accumulates the matchsticks in small metal compartments.
Of course, we would not fail to show how matchboxes are made. The paper plate is loaded into the printer. Printing is done with clichés.
Now we go to the printing of the match on the box. Phosphorus printing is done with serigraphy.
After all that, you need to cut and bend the plate in the shape of the matchbox. The operator removes the paper burrs.
This machine assembles the bottom, glues the lid and also closes it. The finished boxes are taken to another point in the company to receive the matchsticks.
The equipment opens the boxes mechanically. And from the tray, the sticks are placed in the boxes with the programmed quantity.
Operators load boxes with matchsticks onto conveyor belts, which are wrapped in plastic wrap and wrapped in paper.
