Hej Kelly. Once again, thanks for this new video. The infos you gave are quite interesting about the attributes and results we can get with the different types of oils. I am looking forward for your next one! Rodrigo.

I love lead based paints, there is an incredible feel and quality to them that you can’t get with any other pigments. Lead tin yellow is a remarkable colour, especially for skies, and it is just a great light value warm colour to have on your palette. However, it is soooo expensive, so instead I substitute nickel yellow which is a rough equivalent, but a great colour nonetheless.

I love Vasari paints. I save and buy the minimum from time to time. They have color sales each month which is very helpful.

I love all the thoughtfulness you've given in this video. The details make all the difference. Curious which brands you typically stick to. Are there specific brands that you use for specific colors (other than Rublev's flake white and lead tin yellow?...I also use Rublev's lead whites)

Hi. I love your videos! I have a questions. First, which paint brands are the stiffest or thickest? Second for new painters what painting medium could they substitute for the Old Master's .Maroger? Third is Old Holland or Meimeir's stand oil or walnut oil/linseed oil the best? Or least yellowing? Or does the brand matter? Thanks. I know I asked you a lot of questions.

What brands of paint do you buy when your Vasari is gone? Also do you like paints made with a walnut oil binder like M. Graham or a poppy oil like Blockx and Meimeir Puro? Thanks.

Old Masters Maroger ( Mare-Oh-Jay) Rublev Paints - Natural Pigments Wet-on-wet, or alla prima (Italian, meaning at first attempt), is a painting technique, used mostly in oil painting, in which layers of wet paint are applied to previous layers of wet paint.

"Mediums based on mastic varnish and black oil continue to be marketed as the "special" Maroger medium. The most special thing about this product is that it is a sure ticket to a much more fragile paint film that will darken significantly over time. " - from the condensed overview of a research project into the methods and materials of older painting www.tadspurgeon.com/content.php?page=sound+practice that I've come across after watching this video. There are still no professional standards for oil painting products and commerce is very good at telling half truths about what it markets.
