Matt Christman appears on Struggle Session to discuss two John Carpenter films, 1987's "Prince of Darkness" and 1994's "In the Mouth of Madness." He and the hosts discuss John Carpenter's ability to capture the slow meat grinder banality of the apocalypse in both films, how his Lovecraftian horror was undercut by budgetary constraints in "In the Mouth of Madness," and muse on the world of 1994, in which people used to read books. Matt Christman also confesses to having read Dean Koontz when he was really jonesing for a Stephen King fix.
