As a many decade honda enthusiasts, I couldn't agree more. And much like the early 911s and lotus elan, miatas, etc the crxs, s200s, every generation of Si and especially the 88-91 civics have a certain feel even with 91hp that just makes you smile. It's alive, it's communicative, it's Fun. I don't care what anybody says, there are quite a few cars with souls. It's as if Soichiro Honda, or Ferdinand Porsches have some how ingrained their ideas and their vision into their masterpieces and if your someone as crazy as I am, then you can feel that presence. Holy shit, I might be a psychopath
@whiteMCHammer
Жыл бұрын
And to me some of yhe LEAST communicative cars are those of our homeland. I've never driven an American car that feels any more alive than a dishwasher. Mustangs, camaros, corvettes, etc I'll give some praise to the hot rod Era, especially the early mustangs but other that you can really just feel the lack of care, and all the corner cutting within that cheap interior.

Love the Porsche Episode! I went from a 325hp 2000 LS1 V8 Firebird into the 275hp 3.6L 95' Porsche 993 and the 993's Ass in the seat feel felt very quick and nimble for a LONG time! Took me almost a year to get used to that feeling the 993 felt so much faster. (it wasn't but it sure felt that way) add to that the ability to make hard 90% turns at speed. The 993 literally will take a standard 2 lane x 2 lane road intersection hard left at 45 miles an hour without a peep out of the tires and making the inside lane on the turn. I've had the 993 for 10 years now, it's worth $15K more than I paid for it, it has a 100K on the clock, the car is 24 years old is rock solid and doesn't have a single rattle in it ANYWHERE! By far the most well made car I have ever driven. The German engineers do some crazy shit that sometimes doesn't seem to make sense, but DAMN... What an automobile to drive!

I have been working for Porsche since 2001. The Gt3 RS is a decent car but the 911 Turbo and the TurboS are better. Greetings from Germany

I did a job for a guy who had a I want to say it was a 1954 type D porche that he had masterfully restored for over 15 years....the guy was pretty rich but was insane about it. We’re in buffalo NY so there’s only a few months a year really suited to drive something like that...and the guy was a absolute mad man about it. I always wanted to get in and pop the hood and stuff but just assumed he wouldn’t allow some “dirty” carpenter in. Or even pop the hood. Was a beautiful car though

It’s all about the visceral experience.and not actual speed. The clutch, the perfect heal to toe downshift, the mechanics of actually driving as opposed to being driven. Autonomous cars will happen and I will embrace them out of sheer convenience (taking into account that a large majority of drivers shouldn’t even be behind the wheel) but I’ll miss the day when I can no longer have my hand at the helm and AI takes care of it all.
