i love how even though in the way he speaks and writes there is this cynicism and distance, you can still feel such strong emotions. i love how through his alienated way of writing- presenting ideas more than writing pure feelings, he still manages to provoke feelings that are so strong and sincere (to me at least)
@bubbllehead6019
4 жыл бұрын
it's the palpable struggle that's present in almost all of their recent stuff. the struggle of renouncing that cynicism and distance and being subsumed under the weight and the consequences of being sincere. everything he says and writes is relatable cause he says and writes as he goes and he doesn't just reflect on things that have happened/happened to him that he's made his peace with, so i totally agree with you on this.

matty healy's music and the 1975 in general connect with me in a way no other band does. the lyrical turmoil packaged into a song you just want to dance to; leaving it up to the listeners to decide whether they want to press pause in introspect or keep dancing. poignant, especially when trying to tap into those raw feelings of growing up.

I was shocked at the direction they took when the released “give yourself a try” but liked ABIIOR. Now NOACF released and Matty calls this “The end of an era.” I feel this twinge inside me. I am now 21 and it’s crazy to think that ILIWYS came out 5 years ago. I miss those times. Though I’m sad to see this era go, I can’t wait to see what they will come up with when they come back.
