Abstract: The company is building a B2B marketplace that connects emerging food & beverage brands with international retailers, wholesalers and distributors. We combine shopping, shipping, payment solutions and data on a single platform. Based on our model, we do not need physical infrastructure overhead to scale given the focus on aggregation theory principles. Once we start collecting Point-Of-Sale data we will be able to predict demand and build AI/ML to enable discovering and matching of new products. At the same, we will be able to optimize sourcing and logistics.
Bio: [Mauro Costa] I was one of the lucky individuals that was able to leave my native country of Angola at the age of 12 years old to study abroad. For 5 years, I attended a boarding school in Porto, Portugal and then moved to Lisbon where I completed my sophomore year of Economics major. Moving to the USA was always a major goal and in the year 2000 I moved to Philadelphia and graduated from Drexel University with a degree in Finance and International Business.
I am a former Wall Street stockbroker, who later went back to Angola to work in investment banking. I started my first business in 2008, in which I was exporting mainly heavy equipment from the USA to international markets. The focus on the Food & Bev industry emerged in 2014, which lead me to start Bulkitrade in 2020.
I am a lover of Food, Soccer and Politics, who is happily married to my wife ELSA and the proud father of three boys - WELUKA (21), KIENE (18) and LUAMI (15).
