I love everything about this game! The theme is great, the artwork is fanatastic, and the game play has been a blast. I took some time to organize my box once I got it which greatly speeds up the setup time. I cannot wait to get all the new content from the March KS. I’ve played a lot of the game solo but have also played with 2p and 5p. A great time was had by all!

ATTENTION! This game, by today, this time after it's first released version. Has only gotten better and better. The team has ironed out most big complaints people have had with it and it plays better than ever. There are updated rulebooks and expansions that solve even more stuff or just give significant amounts of content. There is a legendary box coming aswell, that has ALL content released so far in one nice big box! If you haven't checked this game out, and is a fan of roguelike games or fast modifiable scenario based games, check this one out. It's one of the most fun and versatile boardgames I have picked up. And it has only grown on me more and more until the point I feel I need all the content for it. Which is really rare for me as I generally don't like expansions.

Hopefully getting my copy in the mail next week! I love the fact there are so many different post apocalyptic themes in this! And the artwork looks mad. Can't wait to give it a crack.

There are a couple of expansions with more enemies: Kaiju Rising, Jurassic Perils and Gothic Horrors (Cthulhu Mythos, Vampires, Yokai, The Rapture [Angels and Demons], The Clownpocalypse miniexpansion).

Are any of those expansions available for retail? I've been searching high and low and haven't seen any except for the Kaiju rising one, which is on backorder for months

Ji99s 74 Kaiju Rising should be on retail, Jurassic Perils is KS exclusive but I think the publisher/desiner sell it in their website, and Gothic Horrors finished its KS in March of this year and it is being manufactured right now, so once the KS production is done they should all be available at least at the publishers website, but Kaiju Rising and Gothic Horrors should hit retail.

My wife and I play this game a lot. We love it. I backed the Kickstarter for the Gothic Horror expansion. I can’t wait to get that in. Plus we get a gremlin type of set as well so it going to be awesome.

10:27 or you can house rule to mix the objective tile with the last tiles of the pile so there is always road to get there.

I was wondering if one of you guys were gonna review this game. It’s been a big hit in our game group plus it’s fun solo. Can’t wait for the new expansion in January.

I think this game is a lot of fun. But, yeah, if you don't like randomness, it's not for you. I'm glad I backed it.

Took a look at some of the scenarios after you mentioned the difficult setup… ya that’s a bit pass for me. I don’t want to have to sort through 50+ cards and tiles to find the exact ones. This will only get worse when you pick up some expansions (which I’d probably want to get). When setup takes just as long as the gameplay it’s a hard pass for me. The game itself looked like a lot of fun. I really like the tile exploration concept.

I owned this game for a while, I loved the artwork, the theme, and the character deck idea. Unfortunately the game itself is a little mess. Scenarios are really-really bad, because they can be abused by so many ways. Looting scenarios can be won by simply scavenging the same place over and over, no need for exploration. It had to be houseruled to even have the need for exploration. There are 0 suggestions how to build the maps, you have to do all the testing work for scenarios to find the correct difficulty. 2 out of the 4 apocalypses are way too easy even for beginning level, I would argue that 3 out of the 4 won't be a challenge for experienced gamers except if the random hits you. And lastly some of the characters can be abused too to break the game, like the engineer who can recover fuel from the discard pile, so you don't have to carry it through the whole map. We actually enjoyed the game, and the little stories it created, but couldn't stand the lack of testing and guidlines in the long run.

They did clean up a couple of these issues for the 2nd printing (new rules to limit the scavenge abuse) and some other things. Scenarios can still be super swingy though based on random factors

Ah, good review. Thanks. I'm looking for a survival game with more replay value, but like this and 7th Continent.

Might I add the most stupid argument for this game is that "you could find the tile you're looking for one the first explore". if that bother you, shuffle the tile(s) needed a relative distance away, mix the tile(s) needed amongst a few others and place them on the other side of the map. If you can't wrap your mind around that this is a MODUAL game, you shouldn't be playing such. The rules state you are free to build the map the way you like, you do it every time. So if you think the gameplay is way too fluctuant, you are to blame. Not the game. Also, new rules change scavenge so one tile can only be scavenged once per players turn. So you need to find more tiles to scavenge efficiently. Also there's new scavenge cards that you can replace the old "empty" scavenge cards. if you draw one of them the location is locked from future scavenges. And you gotta go find new locations to scavenge. And no strategy? That's incredibly dumb. You can mitigare everything. All games, yes, all games I have, are very even. There are so many difficulty options to balance it JUST enough for your group. There is a lot of thinking and planning, and communicating to get ahead.

Totally agree with you! I;ve only played it twice so far (only using one monster deck) so it's depth a replayability hasn't even been scratched for me, I will have this game for years I think (and will mostly play solo). But yes, all the nitpicking 'randomness' comments are uncalled for, like you said are mitigated by your own setup. A great game.

Great production (other than those bullet tokens, ugh), horribly random gameplay. Played it and sold it after 2 plays.
