XRF (point measurements and mapping) are possible in the Arvedi Laboratory in the Violin Museum in Cremona thanks to the presence of Bruker ELIO. In this important laboratory the XRF analisys are now part of the standard procedure designed to complete an extensive study on ancient musical instrumentation. In his presentation, Professor Malagodi is presentig one of his activities "The magnificent art of the inlay: study and materials characterization of Antonio Stradivari 'Hellier' violin". Particular attention is expressed in the characterization of varnishes, purflings, decoration details and fillers.
