Great for grip and for lasting a long time but that is where the good ends as they will suck the power out off your ute and drain your fuel an extra 100km. I had Pirelli Scorpions before getting RAZR AT811 and consistently got 8l per 100km, giving me a range off over 800km, but with the RAZR AT811 I am struggling to get under 10l per 100km and my fuel tank range has been cut to just over 700km. The tyre size and working pressures I am running are the same on both the Pirelli and the Maxxis so there should be no difference in fuel economy or power drop and the difference was instant the second I pulled out the tyre shop, If I had changed tyre size then I would expect the change. The ride comfort is shocking at best as the Pirellis were smooth and absorbed the bumps on the rough country roads but the RAZR AT811 are like riding a jackhammer.

I got these on my prado today, Im a farmer in the hills, grass gets slippery. I didn't want to get muddies so these were recomended. Should be ok for slippery rocky terrain. The ute does most of the hard work on the property but the prado gets a regular call up for service to help out.

I have them. I would say they have some noise depending on the type of pavement you are driving on. Overall, not loud. I can't compare to other brands as these are my first AT tire on a vehicle. Performance gets a A. For the mud they have seen I have had no problems, in rain again no problems The loose gravel parking lot/gravel roads have been good as well. It takes a full throttle off the line acceleration to get them to break loose but it's only a split second on a wet road before traction is there and it's going. I haven't had snow yet but that is coming in a couple of months so we will see about that but I have heard good things for them.
@TyreReviewVideos

Great feedback, thanks Jacob! Definitely got some noise to them, but not much in comparison to some of the more aggressive tyres out there, and less than some less aggressive ATs. I'll be curious to see what you think as you try out other tyres 👍

Hey mate, I've done a full written review over here on the Razrs: www.tyrereview.com.au/maxxis-razr-at811-long-term-review In terms of a comparison, the Ridge Grapplers still have my heart, but the Razrs are a very close second in this segment. The RGs are a touch quieter, and a touch better in the wet, and you might get slightly better mileage out of them, so by the end of it it comes down to availability and price, as I know the RGs are hard to get at the moment. For the AT3Ws, they're a great tyre that's hit the value vs capability spectrum spot on, but they're a bit different in that they're a 2 ply sidewall tyre vs 3ply (in the RGs I chose 3, at least), and I'd actually say that the Razrs and the RGs were better on wet tarmac than them as well. Off road, the RGs and Razrs have more aggressive tread, so would perform better. That said, the mileage that I forecasted for my set of AT3Ws and from what I've been hearing is significantly more than what might be expected out of the RGs and the Razrs. Again, comes down to the areas you value most, and what you'll be doing with the tyres. Thanks for the question, and waiting for the review - it took much longer to produce than I was hoping!

@@TyreReviewVideos thanks for that. So, you’d say the Nitto Ridge Grapplers are a little better than these in most areas? Where would you place the Wildpeaks amongst these?
@TyreReviewVideos
2 жыл бұрын
I would say that for me, the RGs were spot on, and the Maxxis a close second. They were just a touch noisier, and not quite as good in the wet, although they're a damn sight better than lots of other regular ATs. The WPs would duke it out for third or fourth position with the Pirelli Scorpion AT+, but I think the road handling would get the AT+ in front.

@@TyreReviewVideos how do they wear? Are they closer to being as bad as MT since they are closer to a MT than a regular AT or do they actually have a bit more life in them?
@TyreReviewVideos

Hey mate, they're pretty good. A little faster wear than some of the ATs out there, but not as fast as some other ATs, so they're definitely in an AT spectrum of wear, rather than an MT which will chew itself to bits.

Hi Jared, how does the Falken Wildpeak AT3W compare with these tyres in your experience, particularly with wet driving?
@TyreReviewVideos
2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, sorry, have only just seen this comment. The RAZRs were actually better in the wet over the long term. I noticed with the AT3Ws that they were just starting to slip around a bit towards the end of their long term test, more generally in the back of the ute, so an SUV or AWD vehicle might not notice it as much. In the ute I did have to take roundabouts a bit more gingerly than I have with other tyres, including the RAZRs. ~Jared

how do they go in the muddy clay stuff because I know that the bfg ko2 isn't very good in the mud all the mud gets stuck in the tire and you lose all your traction. do the razr at's do a better job?
@TyreReviewVideos
2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, they did pretty well. I've got some claggy stuff out at the farm, and I noticed that while the centre tread blocks packed in, there was always a good edge on the shoulder blocks. That was also without giving them a good spin to clear them, which would obviously help out significantly. They won't be like a full blown muddy that should clear really easily, but I reckon they'll keep you going longer than a regular AT 💪

I've always noodled with decibel readings, but because the situation changes so much (even wind direction and road surface can affect the reading) I've never actually put it into a review. Subjectively I'd say they're quite similar, with maybe the Razr pipping the AT3W on noise after they got some k's on them.

Your thoughts on toughness and off road ability vs BFG KO2s?
@TyreReviewVideos
2 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, just saw this, sorry. I haven't had much time on the retail version of the KO2, so can't really comment directly, unfortunately. The Maxxis is more aggressive, and would have better road performance, but the KO2 has the reputation to beat. The Maxxis is a crossover AT/MT tyre, so also has the three ply casing, making it theoretically tougher in the sidewall, but potentially less comfortable. Hope that helps! ~Jared

Hey guys, thanks for jumping on this one. Icutmetal is right that the Razrs have 3PMSF rating, which means they're tested to maintain some conformability at lower temperatures, whereas those that don't have the rating are less likely to stay as conformable. On the difference between the Ridge Grappler and the Razr, I think this is going to be a hot topic, but here's my thoughts from another comment on here: In terms of a comparison, the Ridge Grapplers still have my heart, but the Razrs are a very close second in this segment. The RGs are a touch quieter, and a touch better in the wet, and you might get slightly better mileage out of them, so by the end of it it comes down to availability and price, as I know the RGs are hard to get at the moment, but so are most tyres in this segment in popular sizes! ~Jared
