Excellent, thanks. I’ve learned that body baits are also used in the spring. I think the bottom line is if you are fishing your lure properly you improve your chances of catching fish.

Nice video. I liked your work bench. Everything nice and neat. I noticed you were using spoons. It would be beneficial, for those of us just getting into this sport, if you would mention the lures you use, including size, colors, etc. and any other tips. This is why we watch these videos. Just a brief mention would be nice.

Thanks for your comments, this was my first attempt at doing a video and I will attempt to be more informative in the future. I have no problem with sharing information if you have specific questions. I am kind of new to salmon fishing but have had many people to give me help. I have another trip to St. Joe's coming up in April, I will try and do better.

Sorry I'm not a licensed guide. Just go with a couple of buds. Going to try Lake Huron this year.

Do you remember what you were using in that video?

we used mostly bright color spoons, lots of orange, greens and red. don't remember what specific ones. Mostly Dream Weaver SS. We fish high in the water, 3,5,7 color. We try and stay away from the Lakers. We kept it pretty simple with no flashers or spin doctors. We tried some flies but didn't get a bite. Another guy fishing by us couldn't get a bite on spoons and was getting them on flies. when we got in a DNR employee was there at the cleaning station was collecting transponders from the fish and told us we were a month late for the good bite. We moved our trip from May to April now and will mostly try peanut flies and thin fins.
