I will keep checking your channel to see what your "weird" garlic turns out to be....I have some too, only mine were bought online from company....German Hardy. I live in area where scape garlic is not grown so much but I bought my garlic late and was told this variety would be fine. Since I have grown garlic before I bought them. I sent pics once I too saw the "weirdness" of how they were growing and was told that this was known as "witches brooming"....where the tops of the garlic split and twisted into what would look like a witches BROOM! ??? I never heard of such a thinkg! I was also told it could be the weather temps going from cold to hot to cold again...AND too much nitrogen. So, a lot going on. I yanked all the "weird" garlic out of my pots and was told that I could not use the soil again as it was diseased now. More $oil!!! The other garlic, Early Italian , is still looking normal but Im keeping eye on them. I am anxious to see what happens to yours. Love your channel....learn so much!

I am so glad you shared your weird experience too with this suspicious garlic 🧄 variety lol. We are in the same boat 👩🌾. I’ve never seen this before myself, after your comment, I am more curious than ever what this which’s broom will turn out like. The rest is looking normal so who knows what’s going on. We have to wait and see 😃 Thanks for your comment and happy gardening 🙏 Let me know what yours turn out like please. When do you harvest yours?

Hi..thanks for replying...I yanked all the weird and kept the other (Italian)...it doesn't look great but it doesn't look weird. I may pull it some time in early June. The weird never got to the clove stage so its just a large 'spring onion'...I was told to dry it as usual and use it, so.... I only have a few of the Italian left so I will hope it gives me a normal harvest. I switched to growing in pots because I can no longer physically do the 'ground work', so I thought that was the problem. I think I should stay with the soft neck as before. You live and learn.
