You know, I don't think Jennifer Damiano gets enough credit. Yes Alice Ripley is insanely amazing, but she definitely has more experience. Jennifer Damiano was 18 when this was uploaded, and she was only 16 when the show started. She truly is amazing.

"A girl full of anger and hope... a girl with a mother who just couldn't cope." Having grown up in a family situation very much like this, I can so relate to Natalie's character on so many levels. My mom, who had 13 rounds of ECT back in the 70's passed away a year ago today. Every time I called, there were a few times she was lucid, and we could talk like this, but these times were so fleeting as most of the time my mom couldn't see anything or anyone past herself. I never had closure with her. I never will.... Yet, I thank all those involved in the production of this show as it cuts right to the heart of the truth between the angst of a mother-daughter relationship gone awry due to no one's fault... In real life, there are no true villians nor heros. There are people - people struggling to get through life. I've asked my dad to watch this show so many times. I doubt he will, although I can always hope... I wasn't able to have closure with my mom, but my dad... He's not the same person that he was when I was a child or teenager. Heck, he was practically a child himself dealing with a mentally unstable wife all the whhile trying to figuring a way to raise me and working 2 jobs just to pay the bills. He thinks the answer is to leave the past in the past and to just move on in life, and while I don't disagree, the question of HOW to let go of the past is where I keep getting stuck.... This past year, I've been trying to become unstuck so that I can move on in my life and truly live it. Live in hope andi light, not the shadows from the past.... So thanks to all involved in this show, and to the person who posted this part of the show which validates so much of which my parents never could... Thank you for giving me the words to express something so deep and embedded that it is hard to access it.... I love you mom... I love you dad.... Always...

13 rounds... god that is so many. Just one for Diane in the musical was more than enough and caused enough damage. I can't imagine that... I hope that wherever you are, that you will get closure one day.

I love how at the end, Natalie's having a hard time hugging Diana. It really shows what a broken relationship they have. Man, this scene is really powerful.

@Bluebaritone her character is losing it. The hand motions are just a little expression of her mental state. The motions are crazy, just like Diana. They are both wild.

is there something wrong with my tear ducts? seriously. why is there not waterwork? is it possible for my eyes to be in a drought. this is the saddest thing i have everr watch, this is why i love theatre, you go to the theatre to experiance emotion, laugh, cry, scream, hate, love. but for some reason my eyes don;t want to cry when my mind is balling.

I don’t know who the actors are, but this Natalie is extraordinary. This is one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite musicals. The Diana here is less than mediocre. And don’t talk to me about Alice Ripley- highly overrated
