Awesome video bro. Good investment with the SANWA buttons. You'll have to get a background for the stick now :)

In my experience using the F500, the weakest part of it is the actual stick, since the buttons are very decent. The problem with the stick is that it feels very loose and the activation distance (the distance you must move the stick for an input to be registered) is too long. That means the actuator is too small for the micro switches and the spring is too soft. You are going to notice a bigger improvement changing the stick or you can just buy both the actuator and the spring individually and replace them. I think the missing inputs you were noticing had more to do with these factors than with the square gate.

I'm assuming you are reffering to a sanwa joystick as well right? for now what I'm getting is a set of extenders because I have large hands and I'm not getting a good grip of the joystick, I will give that configuration a run for a while and I know a little later on I'll upgrade the joystick, I've already watched a couple of very informative videos on the topic. or, I can try upgrading the actuator and spring like you said, that sounds like a cheaper upgrade instead of buying the whole sanwa joystick assembly, the disassembly of the joystick looks easy enough to change those individual parts. thanks for your comments! I'm learning a lot about joysticks, didn't realize it's a whole world apart! that's awesome!

@@RetroGamesNow86 Battops are not made with japanese sticks on mind. American sticks are longer to fit the battop properly. So battops made for japanese sticks come with a little extender to increase the length of the stick. I noticed you did not put any extender when you installed the battop, so I am guessing you bought an american battop and that is the reason you are feeling the stick a little short. Stick extenders are a little too long for most cases, so maybe try buying a sanwa battop, most sites show the little extender that comes with them so you could have an idea if that’s all you need to fix the length issue.

15:08 19:18 19:20 The ringing sound is caused by the spring's coil vibration.

I see! that makes sense, curious about the build quality and why the recoil is audible on the stock buttons and not on the sanwa.

Besides the ringing of the stock buttons they feel the same as the sanwa? I always wear headphones so I never hear my buttons anyway. Just curious if they are worth getting sanwa buttons. I've had my mayflash f500 for a little over a week now and I love it

I was playing for a while last night and you know what? they do feel different, in a good way, they feel higher quality. the stock ones surely are made from a lesser dense plastic and they feel cheaper for sure. Now what I'm thinking is I need a taller joystick, I might get one next because I have large hands and this joystick is kind of short for me, i'm finding out my hand is not adapting easily to it.

@@TheEricTimothy I did try a joystick extender, but don't feel I liked it immediately, I might try actually getting a Sanwa joystick with a longer shaft...
