A trip down to Zell am Ziller, which is well worthwhile and has a lot of skiing when you consider you can get over to Gerlos and Krimml etc as well.
Here we started on the Hanser X-Press chair from the Rosenalm area. This area is the main mountain area and where the Rosenalm gondola drops you off, however very flat here and the positioning of the chairs and drags means a lot of pushing to get to them. Quite a lot of inter-connecting and crossing runs so not always sure we stay on the same run all the time.
From top of chair you head off to the right and then keep left as Red 19 heads off right at about 00:20 which takes you down to the Kreuzjoch X-Press chair, and can also take you down to the Rosenalm area. Temperatures down in the valley today were reaching 20C and the snow at Rosenalm was very wet and heavy, however up here it was really nice and hadn't got too heavy yet. At 1:15, Red 15 joins in from the left and carries on to the other side of the slope too.
Around 2:15 you can just make out the sign for the Black 19d that continues down under the chairlift, however we head off to the left. Not sure at this point if we're still on the Red 19a as the next sign we come to is Red 19 (2:50). The snow by this time was getting quite heavy and broken up and a bit harder work. At 3:30 we turn down to the right to keep on the Red 19, and then at 4:40 I think we start heading down the Red 19b but then cut across to get back on the 19 which is a narrow track at this point. At 5:50 we turn down, I think this is now the bottom part of Red 13, which then takes us down passed the small nursery area with a couple of covered conveyors.
At the bottom we can see the Simon's Skistadl restaurant to the front. Turning to the left we see the Plattenanger I T-bar and also the top station of the Rosenalm gondola. To the right and not immediately obvious is the Plattenanger II T-bar.
