bagofboom It is strange,yet true that he constantly has to speak about himself,it would to a psychologist I'm sure appear to be a deep seated insecurity,maybe that he will indeed be surpassed(as he gave a tell towards by claiming he wants his fighters to beat his achievements instead of emulating him)one could infer is the source,but strange because he's achieved so much it's hard to see how he could possibly be surpassed,never mind forgotten,but the mind is a strange thing.

This is a side of Floyd we don’t get to see often. He’s one of the smartest fighters out there and his legacy will live on forever. I’m really disappointed in the haters who never really understood why he became more of a defensive fighter later in his career. As he said here, his body started to break down after the Gatti fight and he needed to modify his strategy to prolong his career. Thank you Dontae for this interview. Hard work... Dedication!!!

Pierre Bérubé so you are saying Floyd can't control his temper or isn't relaxed around other interviewers. If he is only this comfortable around Dontae it implies that Dontae is not asking tough or difficult questions or controlling the interview to keep Floyd on track and not veer off the topic and start a lecture on his achievements.

I have to agree with Mayweather and his thoughts on Lomachenko. Mayweather could have went pro at 15 and when he was 30, he was making over $30 million per fight. He didn’t take the easy way like. Lomachenko did. Pretty much any boxer with average skills could have gone the route Loma did, having 400 amateur fights and being a two-time Olympian. With all that practice, of course he’s gonna be good.....

That's 1 thing that was always fascinating about Floyd I could remember those days even when Floyd was like 27-28 he was getting about 10 million per fight then age 30 he was getting 30+ million per it was crazy especially in those days and to think no fighter is even coming close today. I think Joshua may be the closest.. These young guys gotta start taking advantage of this era
@neatchip123
6 жыл бұрын
Mayweather's business strategy is smart. But, man, he really enjoys gloating and giving those backhand compliments. He said he could have gone pro at 15, but that Loma needed until nearly 27. He gave him some props, but made it seem as if Loma is not impressive, I mean the dude is eating up titles like Pacman (the actual videogame character). He is breaking records nearly every fight. He is hungry, I don't think it's the worry about age. He has stated he does not fear that, he just wants to stake his legacy quickly and be the best. I'm not a real fan about him sheltering Davis from Loma, either. It isn't as if Loma needs to fight him, but you can tell the clear worry about putting them against each other. The excuse about 'time' does not really fly. It's just a great way to say, "He is not ready / we are cherry picking." Again, I think Floyd's business strategy is sound, but I don't like it. It makes boxing about not taking people at their best, but when you are at the most advantage via age, weight, etc. That is why I respect Loma, if you put a champion at 130/135 in front of him, he will take it. Loma isn't perfect, but he is #1 P4P right now, at minimum a tie with Crawford. What self respecting fighter would not want to take on the best at their best and show they are the best? Note: Before people begin talking about Salido or something, just know that's a dead conversation. Everyone knows that's a stain in boxing history. People love bringing it up, it was one of the dirtiest fights and Loma still arguably won even if no points were taken off for the nut slaps and rabbit punches. All that fight did was hurt boxing's credibility even more. It is a sport I love and for people to openly use a corrupt fight as a way of attacking a fighter is pretty sad. I would never wish a corrupt decision on any fighter, they work hard.

Dee Nizzle I mean, I like to express myself and make my point concise. I personally think Loma is a great fighter, nothing wrong with that. I also didn't quite get the discussion of the money, either. Lomachenko doesn't really care for the money, only the legacy. When he was looking for his promoter the first thing he asked for was a title shot, he said I don't care about getting paid big, just get me a title shot. You have to respect that attitude. Mayweather and him have different interest. I personally like Loma's more, because it is a fighters mentality, not a business mentality.
@seventhraikage2538
6 жыл бұрын
neatchip123 very well said. Salido fight...bs. Loma takes all title fights. No cherry picking, Tank didn't want to fight him at 130. Now Loma moves up to 35 and he starts talking....I guess lol. Lack of quality opposition is not the dominant fighters fault
