(Edit 11-06-2023 : 434 k km)
As of today - Havent poured soapy water around injectors, but no diesel leaks around any one - they are all dry.
Inline injection pump delivery valve seals moist a couple months ago - is now FIXED/RESEALED!!
- and have orings/copper washers for next 3-4 jobs (the next 75-100 years). Should I have used Viton? Perhaps the next time..
(Edit 22.04.2019 : 370 k km of lovely motoring and counting.)
Update about injector/prechamber leaks: Have now again checked after 30k km's and it seems the leaks are gone, video uploaded :)
This is the status of my W201 190D, with the OM601, after recent head + gasket replacement, at ~325.000 km. Engine now has ~333.000 km. I am diving around in the engine compartment and listening, mainly around injectors.
This began as an oil leak which required headgasket replacement. As work progressed, I decided to install another used head, complete with camshaft though, with half the mileage and very good price. This was necessary due to indentations caused presumably by improper removal procedure :-/. Yup - I had an issue with one stuck head bolt due to an injector having an edge or hose barb facing the wrong way.. No quick corners. So I realized just how soft this alloy really is.
So far, so good. Zero water consumption and about 1 quart / 1 liter oil consumption per 6 k miles / 10 k km.
I hope you enjoyed this video.
