I have anaphylaxis or like that 18 times in four years. (Rigor also have similar symptoms and most doctors do not know). I never knew the symptoms are so severe and I pray to God that it should never come to anyone. The strange thing is that I had fever during each event -- 102-103 degree. Every time I was mid-way enjoying either song, television or filing reports in my office. Eventually, when none of the doctors ( I consulted many) could diagnose, what was it, I approached New Delhi AIIIMS. A group of doctors asked me N number of questions without any clue. After one hour of grilling, a chest specialist advised to go for lung test and gave me two medicines, one of them was a proton pump inhibitor. I came back to my hotel took my dinner and medicines. At around 12.45 pm I felt similar symptoms; flushing near ears and cheek, they becoming warm, the onset of cough, bone-chill shivering, trouble in breathing and high fever. none was in the room with me. I was helpless, my BP might be 00-00 pulse was 180 and my heart wanted to come out of my chest. I had already taken paracetamol, anti-allergic medication and started inhaling carbol capsules (I always keep certain medicines with me 24x7. Symptoms subsided by 4 00 am in the morning. The real culprit was the proton pump inhibitor. It is a banned drug in the USA and entire Europe. Believe me, none should go into such symptoms so dreary and life-threatening. I can write reams of papers on every episode. Once I was in a national park where no phone works, although I knew nearby district hospital and medical college doctors. Again I had to manage myself on my own. Beware while taking medicines.
